On Friday, TMZ caught up with CNN's Don Lemon at Los Angeles International Airport. The tabloid decided to ask Lemon about the scandal going on in Virginia with Gov. Ralph Northam's yearbook photo where he wore black face.
The reporter asked Lemon if he thought women would be better political leaders because of their backgrounds being "less sketchy." The CNN anchor laughed and agreed.
Women are the smartest of the sexes and they always have been," Lemon said. We would be a whole lot better off if women were running things more things in this country and I mean that."
Yes, men can be boneheaded. They can do stupid things. But guess what? So can women. There are no hard and fast rules about one sex being smarter or less idiotic than another.
The real issue though is saying men do dumb things. When we attribute their actions to their sex, it takes away their personal responsibility. It's like saying "boys will be boys" when they sexually harass a woman. It's not okay but saying it is because they're males fails to hold them accountable.
Part of the problem is Americans' obsession with wanting "firsts."
Everyone was focused on getting Barack Obama elected because they wanted the first African American president.
Liberals were excited Sen. Kyrsten Sinema was elected because she was the first openly bi-sexual member of Congress.
Progressives cheered when Reps. Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar were elected because they were the first Muslims in Congress.
Now the focus is on having the first woman as president.
We're so focused on having "firsts" that we're not electing people based on their merits and their policy ideas. We're worried too much about identity politics that we're setting ourselves up for failure. And it's putting America's future in jeopardy.
Thank you.
Margaret Thatcher, Golda Meir.... any others?
“Don Lemon: More Women Should Run For President Because.”
Don needs an excuse to wear women women’s clothes.
Too stupid to know the IQ differences between the sexes or the races.
+1000!
I would say this is true of most women. But I know some women that can think quite logically and I admire their intellect.
Thanks for posting this. ‘Pod.
To stupid to know the diffrerences in IQ between the sexes and races.
What about Keith Ellison? He was in Congress and he's Muslim.
Maybe he is right. Let’s try that out by firing all male news casters and replacing them with women.
He’s saying all the trigger things to get the wiminz swooning for a score.
Well stated.

If gender is a social construct, why would it matter?
My wife would dispute that...she's very smart but she also hangs out with a lot of other women...according to her, the ones with a lot of common sense and the ability to be real leaders are a relatively rare lot....
On the flip side, it seems the same is true in the male world...such as it is these days.
Women are the smartEST of the (two) sexes and they always have been,”
He may be right. He’s a man (sort of), and obviously doesn’t “get” comparatives and superlatives. “SmartER”, Don, not “smartEST”.
Bump!
Thanks for the bump - kind of like the “researchers” that think masculinity is “toxic” finding out that Trump supporters and women appeal to men with fragile masculinity - I think they are claiming the Left, which despises masculinity are the more masculine ones....strong in them the delusions are...
Use of the superlative is appropriate only when comparing three or more things. As there are only two sexes, the author should use the comparative only.
Furthermore, his statement simply lacks factual basis.
With his illiteracy and his ignorance, he's a perfect match for CNN.
Hah! I have a fellow “Grammar Nazi” here ...
It sure is much like the masculinity thing.
It amazes me how the left comes up with these hair brained ideas and actually make issues out of them.
These idiots have been indoctrinated to the point that if they ever had any common sense they’ve forgotten it.
