Chinas diplomatic clash with Canada escalated sharply on Monday, when a Canadian man was sentenced to death for drug smuggling after a Chinese court overrode his plea of innocence at a retrial that had been swiftly called after tensions erupted between the two countries.

What am I missing? You smuggled drugs INTO China?! Did you ever hear the old chestnut about “hauling coal to Newcastle”?
Did he do it?
“Visitors have the responsibility to abide by Chinese law.”
Sure. even if they do, they can still run into problems. China’s justice system is even more corrupt and despotic that the US. That said, China does have a lower per captia incarceration rate than the US. That is probably explained by under-reported imprisonment and more capital punishment.
The smart thing to do is NOT to visit China.
In China prisoners are executed, their organs are harvested and then sold to wealthy Chinese expats living in the USA.
While you are dancing your jig on my grave to your Deliverance Banjo music, you better look out for the big wet puddle.
The upside is that you might be pretty good at a trade when you get out a couple of decades later.
“Wheres the concern?”
Execution deficit.
“Everything made in China was made in the USA and can be made in USA.”
Cost of living would quadruple.
“That has nothing to do with it. Everything made in China was made in the USA and can be made in USA.”
Yup, as long as you are willing to pay $3,500.00 for a laptop, or $500.00 for a flip-fone.
The amount of labor in flip phone/PC is tiny no matter where it is made. Free Traitors lies don't work anymore. We are on to you.
PS: Why stop at $500, what not $1,000 or $1,500 per phone?
This shows how the vermin Free Traitor will win if you believe their non sense. If you really believe that then you need to educate yourself about economics and the cost of labor.
Take a phone, if the coolies make it costs $800, if you are right ( which you are not by the way ) it will cost $4,000 if made in the USA. Think about that for a second. Materials and other non labor costs being roughly the same is labor PER PHONE going to be $3,200 if made in the USA? Really? Do you believe that? I don't think you do.
this has nothing to do with the US it is Canada’s issue
I don’t know what it would cost for a phone, and neither do you. That was just a guess. America stopped making Elec things years ago.
The bottom line is that ‘made here vs there’ cost factors are about 10-1. It is what it is.
Yup, as long as you are willing to pay $3,500.00 for a laptop, or $500.00 for a flip-fone.

I am already paying those prices only through my taxes supporting non workers, and illegal aliens. Food stamps and welfare and healthcare costs.
I would rather pay the manufacturers and give jobs to our people.
Of course the government leftists take their swag too.
First there must be a federal death penalty for bringing in the drug. SWo far as I know, there is no such penalty
Dont be stealin no sunglasses neither.
OK, economics 101. The LABOR may be 10 times more expensive but the per unit cost is not going to be 10 times more. Get it?
Here is a link to the cost of making an iphone. Please read it and pay attention to the part about the labor cost PER PHONE. Granted it's a little dated, this discusses the costs for the iphone 5.
The "production" cost i.e. labor is listed at $20.00 phone. So if the PER UNIT Production cost is say doubled then the phone would only cost $20.00 more if made in the USA. Get it?
Spendy but indispensable: Breaking down the full $650 cost of the iPhone 5
“Canada should give up the fantasy that it has independent power or influence.”
We (Canada) could assert our independence and power by refusing to consider seemingly politically motivated extradition requests from the US.
“You get a bullet to fhe back of your head or you get hanged. Justice is swift.”
And they charge your family for the bullet.
