18 month old Richie needs your prayers

Prayer Warriors have seen this but we need everyone to offer prayers for Richie.

Picture a few months old but the only one I have available.

First a little history .... The last week of November, Richie received several vaccines which included the flu vaccine.

On December 2nd, he was hospitalized with paralysis of his arms and legs. He was put on a respirator and the outlook was bleak. I posted a note on FB asking for prayers from family and friends.

Richie is the grandson of a cousin who is more like a little brother than a cousin.

Amy, know that you also have been in the prayers of many here as we travel through Richie’s life with fervent prayers for a miracle. It is humbling to read all the wonderful words of Christians on this thread. Draw near to God and He will draw near to us. I am going to pray Psalm 23 over you and Richie and his family and care givers when I finish this.

Praying for Brian and Shannon during this change of diagnosis as it is a tough time to accept when you have made plans for a return to home life.

Victorious Lord Jesus, we ask for Your mercy and grace and Your will be done because we know that you have our best in all situations forever. In the name of The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen.

I am going to write my Jesus Calling devotional to you here.

Trust Me and Don’t be afraid, for I, Jesus, am your strength and song. Think what it means to have Me as your Strength. I spoke the universe into existence; My Power is absolutely unlimited! Human weakness, consecrated to Me, is like a magnet, drawing My Power into your neediness. However, fear can block the flow of My Strength into you. Instead of trying to fight your fears, concentrate on trusting Me. When you relate to Me in confident trust, there is no limit to how much I can strengthen you.
Remember that I am also your Song. I want you to share My joy, living in conscious awareness of My Presence. Rejoice as we journey together toward heaven; join Me in singing My Song.

To me, this was powerful in our prayers for Richie and family and medical caregivers. When we feel powerless in a situation humanly, we can only find strength with the Triune Godhead. Blessings all.

We pray, dear Father, that You in Your infinite grace and wisdom will wrap every fiber of Richie’s being in Your Divine protection, that You will keep the enemy away from his vital tissues, that You will help this child to fight with every atom of his being this temporary condition.

We claim the blood of Jesus Christ over this child, that the devil may flee from him. We claim the Name Above All Names over any other name, including any name of illness or disability — be they gone!

We claim Divine healing for Richie and his parents and grandparents, that all may have peace of mind, strength of faith and endurance of heart to see the outworking of Your plan for Richie.

I'm still praying for a miracle but this most recent update has Richie's family hearts broken.

Brian has not answered texts for about 4 days. Grandpa is exhausted. He is worried about his son and his grandson. Richie's situation has deteriorated to the point that his life expectancy seems to be very short since these problems are going to continue.

Richie had to get the pacemaker because of another episode of flatline. To do this they had to cut two of his ribs to attach the wires to his heart. They then needed to put two chest tubes in, Grandpa is not sure why but he assumes that during the pacemaker procedure Richie's lungs needed to be re-inflated. Before the pacemaker was attached, he had to have an emergency bronchoscopy due to mucus plugs and lung not filling with air properly. No talk of Richie going home anytime soon.

I ask that you keep Richie and his family in your prayers. I've let Brian and Shannon know that we are here for them but at this time, they are devastated. Thank you so very much for showing Richie and his family so much love.
