As the deployment of active-duty military members to the U.S.-Mexico border continues, the newest form of criticism is that the troops will not be home for Thanksgiving and they could possibly miss Christmas as well.
Secretary of Defense James Mattis also responded to the holiday criticism while he was en route to visit the service members deployed in Texas.
“Rain or shine, light or dark, cold weather or hot weather — we have an all-weather force that's on duty 24/7,” Mattis explained. “Drive around the Pentagon on Thanksgiving Day, and look at the number of cars in the parking lot of people who work right through the holidays. Some of you were with me when we were at Guantanamo Bay last Thanksgiving timeframe. Troops were down there.”
“Kind of, all I can say to the American people: Welcome to your military. It's on duty,” he concluded.

How about we bring them home from the Middle East and Europe and other far flung places that don’t really concern OUR national interests? Can we take our own side? Is that allowed? Ever?
I can’t think of many people more nasty than Brooke Baldwin. That plastic face of hers with the permanent scowl makes it look like she has been holding in a fart for months.
Want to have a career where you’re guaranteed to miss holidays and birthdays etc and not be military? Hospitality business will do that to you.

All we need now is some video footage of crying kids missing daddy and it’ll be complete.
Mattis is the most read man in America, and clearly knows of this trick which crystallized relatively recently when Egypt attacked Israel on Yom Kippur and more recently with the Shoe Bomber on Christmas. Always expect the enemy to not respect your traditions or try to use them against you.

For them, everything is all about “feelings.” Not two brain cells to rub together among the lot of them.
Using that logic; why not just give all police, firefighters, and EMT’s time off between the Weds before Thanksgiving and January 2nd?
