Yes, the reference article they used to verify was posted only minutes before. They may have some computer program that monitors these things and automatically updates the site info.............

He was underrated as a player IMO.

I really enjoyed his music. The guy was a musical genius.
He was real music, unlike most these days.

I saw Roy Clark live at the Grand Ole Opry around 2000 or so. I was in Nashville on business, and my boss had gotten tickets for us and our wives for the Grand Ole Opry. I am not a country music fan, but I was fairly familiar with a lot of country acts from my youth. I still remember on Saturdays, starting around 5:00 PM my parents would start watching a slate of 30 minute country music programs on one of the local UHF channels. To my surprise (and shock), some of those acts from decades past were still singing (or attempting to sing) at the Opry. I saw Bill Anderson and Jan Howard (they used to have a show) and Little Jimmy Dickens (he was a guest on all those old shows) and several others.
Most of those old acts were pretty dreadful. Almost all of those old timers had lost their voices. At one point, Roy Clark came out to do about 15 minutes (they rotate shows at the Opry, and they run 15-30 minutes). He was absolutely superb. He still sounded great, and he even did "Thank God & Greyhound".

I learned to play the guitar using his song book, simple but also comprehensive.

I listen online to a classic country station out of St
Louis. They have a great play list, a lot of songs I haven’t heard in years and some I had forgotten, including this one: “I Never Picked Cotton”. A great and gritty song. RIP.

Yes, I have that one bookmarked. INCREDIBLE PLAYING. and you could see Randall and Klugman step out of their roles for a couple of minutes, just in awe of what they were seeing and hearing.

I got this album in high school.
What an amazing talent.
Well beyond what you saw on Hee Haw.
