Gunilla Hutton made up for some of the lameness...
And yes, I didn’t realize it when I was a kid, but Roy was a guitar genius. That Malaguena clip is just blistering.
(Charo’s version isn’t so bad, either)
Truly a master of many instruments and an all around great man. Thanks, Roy, for all the memories.
Anyone remember his commercial for guitar lessons? The Big Note Guitar Book
RIP
STYX was rolling thru with their old age tour a year or so (Probly more) back and my daughter wanted to get me tickets because I listen to their original analog 12” vinyl lps, a.k.a. - records quite often in the mix.
She understood when I declined and told her that I had recently watched a Quello concert of their latest concert and I would really rather preferred to remember them as the kick-ass rockers of my youth.
Roy Clark always looked like he was enjoying playing tons more than everyone else in the room listening.
Visions like that made many a young teen confirm, “hey, I’m not gay.”
I swear to G-d...Roy was faster than Alvin Lee or even Joe Bonamassa.
On Wednesday (November 14) the singer's reps officially confirmed that Roy Clark is not dead. He joins the long list of celebrities who have been victimized by this hoax. He's still alive and well, stop believing what you see on the Internet, they said. BUT that is a single source - Mediamass.Net

“[[I confess, I hated Hee Haw as a kid. I didnt really appreciate these guys until much later on.]]
You and me both- had to watch it at grandmas house all the time- hated it- but looking back at the show now, I see i didnt appreciate great music playing at the time-”
I confess I only watched it for the babes.
Roy Clark was also a very accomplished pilot. Got the aviation bug when he was a kid; earned his pilot’s license at 23 and bought his first plane (Piper Tripacer) shortly thereafter. At one time, he had a Stearman PT-17; Mitsubishi MU-2 and MU-300 (business jet), in addition to the Tripacer. Logged thousands of hours and held
Finally raffled off the Tripacer in 2012 to benefit Wings of Hope children’s charity.
Keith Richards is still here.....
Pneumonia...... get the shots!
If you are forced into a hospital the possibility of pneumonia is real, dangerous, a killer for old guys. If you get the shots there is some defense.
Medicare pays for them.
I’ve had two very good friends that died of pneumonia for no reason.
Forget the music...I could watch it with the volume turned down as long as Lisa Todd made an appearance.
I am going to feel like a total idiot if this turns out to be a hoax, but it is being reported multiple news sites.
Thank God and Greyhound is my very favorite of Roy Clark’s recordings!
He could play a lick and I’m sure he is sitting in with the big band in the sky.
