During the November 4 airing of CBS Newss 60 Minutes, they inaccurately described the AR-15 as mass shooters weapon of choice.
The claim that the AR-15 is the weapon of choice is widely reported and it is Fake New 101. In fact, to make the claim even nominally palatable, 60 Minutes host Scott Pelley only referenced five mass shooting events, all of which happened in the last six years and all which involved an AR-15 or an AR-15 and various handguns.
Those five shootings were the Tree of Life Synagogue (October 27, 2018), the church in Sutherland Springs, Texas (November 5, 2017), the Las Vegas concert (October 1, 2017), the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida (February 14, 2018), and the Sandy Hook Elementary School attack (December 14, 2012).

M-14
(Civi downgraded version would be the Mini-14)
7.62 (or close to the .308)
Or drew a picture of it :p
I recently scored a DPMS LR308 Lite topped with a Leupold VR-X 4-12 40mm for $1,000. The next day I saw a SR-762 for $1100. No glass. A piston rifle runs a bit better than a DI, but the money was spent. Now I have to wait for some better weather to check it out at the outdoor range. It was 40 degrees with a 38 MPH steady wind on Saturday. Not great for outdoor range visits.
M14
Actually, it would be .223
Don’t forget the sand/mud jams of the original M16 :/
It doesn’t matter. It’s 2018, in America the AR-15 is synonymous with Gun. It’s not going anywhere.
The Commercially available AR-15 is a semi-automatic “replica” of a 50 year old military weapon system. It’s basically Gran-Pappy’s shotgun at this point.
Interesting. Didn’t know that about the comparative reliability.
In the future you will be required to register that lethal weapon.
I don’t know but I want it.
The M1A I wish I had.
>>>Quick - what is this?<<<
It’s one of the most beautiful Rifles ever produced.
As compared to an M1A civilian version with a notch for the switch, but no selector.
Yuuuuuuuge price difference though lol.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/.222_Remington_Magnum
“To prevent confusion among all of the competing .222 cartridge designations, the .222 Special was renamed the .223 Remington in 1959. “
I don’t have the statistics, but the AR-15 is obviously a popular platform...so the CBS claim is kind of like saying that most car accidents happen within a mile of home. Not surprising since drivers probably spend more “behind the wheel” time driving to and from home than most other places. Your mileage may vary...
A slice of delight.
