A woman who accused Justice Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault admitted to congressional investigators she made up her claims to "get attention."
According to a letter sent to Attorney General Jeff Sessions late Friday afternoon, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley referred Judy Munro-Leighton for criminal prosecution and revealed her actions were part of a ploy to take down Kavanaugh's nomination.
From the letter, bolding is mine:
Given her relatively unique name, Committee investigators were able to use open-source research to locate Ms. Munro-Leighton and determine that she: (1) is a left-wing activist; (2) is decades older than Judge Kavanaugh; and (3) lives in neither the Washington DC area nor California, but in Kentucky.
On November 1, 2018, Committee investigators connected with Ms. Munro-Leighton by phone and spoke with her about the sexual-assault allegations against Judge Kavanaugh she had made to the Committee. Under questioning by Committee investigators, Ms. Munro-Leighton admitted, contrary to her prior claims, that she had not been sexually assaulted by Judge Kavanaugh and was not the author of the original Jane Doe letter. When directly asked by Committee investigators if she was, as she had claimed, the Jane Doe from Oceanside California who had sent the letter to Senator Harris, she admitted: No, no, no. I did that as a way to grab attention.
She further confessed to Committee investigators that (1) she just wanted to get attention; (2) it was a tactic; and (3) that was just a ploy. She told Committee investigators that she had called Congress multiple times during the Kavanaugh hearing process including prior to the time Dr. Fords allegations surfaced to oppose his nomination.
Regarding the false sexual-assault allegation she made via her email to the Committee, she said: I was angry, and I sent it out. When asked by Committee investigators whether she had ever met Judge Kavanaugh, she said: Oh Lord, no.
Grassley has also referred Julie Swetnik, Michael Avanetti and an unnamed man for criminal prosecution after making false claims to congressional investigators.
"The Committee is grateful to citizens who come forward with relevant information in good faith, even if they are not one hundred percent sure about what they know...But when individuals intentionally mislead the Committee, they divert Committee resources during time-sensitive investigations and materially impede our work. Such acts are not only unfair; they are potentially illegal," Grassley wrote. "It is illegal to make materially false, fictitious, or fraudulent statements to Congressional investigators. It is illegal to obstruct Committee investigations."
And yet the braindead, “highly educated” commie “progs” still say that although she admits to lying and making up her bull**** story, we still have to “believe” her because she has female sexual organs. Sorry, I know bull**** when I see bull**** and I don’t even own a horse or a cowboy hat anymore.
Hopefully she will get all of the attention that she deserves from the FBI and a dedicated prosecutor.
Christine Ballsey-Ford deserves the very same level of attention, too.
I want them to become a warning to others.
"What makes citizens obey the law is not always their sterling character. Instead, fear of punishment -- the shame of arrest, fines or imprisonment -- more often makes us comply with laws. Law enforcement is not just a way to deal with individual violators but also a way to remind society at large that there can be no civilization without legality."
Lock her up
I’m not.
I’d give a lessor sentence to the admitted liars. This in order to get other liars to tell the truth. Nail the ones hard who won’t back down from the con
What a dunce. If she had only had a top Democrat lawyer like Michael Avenatti, he’d have advised her to keep her mouth shut, double down on the accusation, and get rich off the book and movie contracts. But the silly gal broke down and told the truth. This shows the sophistication gap between a place like Kentucky and elite enclaves on the coasts.
Which of those that were so quick to deny him the assumption of innocence are going to step forward and remove the nails from this crucifixion?
She must be lying about lying because according to feminists women never lie about sexual assault.
DEMOCRATS ARE VILE< EVIL and VICIOUS!
I never heard of this accuser, but they need to prosecute Sweetlodge and Ballsy Ford or this is still a circus. Put pressure on Sessions to do something and if he passes then fire him. Before or after the election, doesn’t matter.
Lying and believing in - or at least supporting - lies are two of the left's sacraments. Take the lies out of progressivism/socialism/communism and it wouldn't run any more than a car without fuel.

I find it very interesting that Ford has completely disappeared, and not doing the talk show circuit or making bank on book deals. Shouldnt she be the face of the MeToo movement by now? Perhaps running for office? Sharing the stage with Pelosi?
This whole routine about women not lying is one of the most absurd things I have ever heard, the main difference between women and men on the subject of lying is that women lie more and are better at it because they are capable of believing their own lies. Most of them can’t get a story straight even if they try. Anyone who doubts should simply tell his wife some short simple story and ask her to repeat it to him. Of course most men can’t get a story straight either but the women are worse at it even than men.
Since she admitted it, if she goes on national TV prime time, all networks, and issues an apology, I’d be Ok with her doing community service for 5 years instead of jail time.
Hopefully she will get all of the attention that she deserves from the FBI and a dedicated prosecutor.
Sure she will.
