U.S. Senator Steve Daines (R) says he needs to be in Montana this weekend for his daughter's wedding, throwing Saturday's vote on Kavanaugh in doubt - NBCMT
Well, when my husband was active duty, I cannot remember how many events for my daughters that my husband missed. Thats kind of how it goes. And Ill bet there are thousands here on FR who can attest to having missed births, Christmases, sacred events and yes, even weddings. Being one of 100 senators means the same thing. Especially with a vote this important.
yes they do and families don’t schedule wedding when dad is in Iraq. but these people scheduled when their father was senator. MvConnell runs the senate He has made an adjustment as you may have read because he knows he’s in charge. he could have done that originally if ehe had his ducks in a row before he rescheduled the vote. In a case of wedding or vote, i would be at my daughters wedding.
Thanks to you both of your for your service.
I know how that goes. I have a job that requires a great deal of international travel. I’ve missed many holidays, including Thanksgiving and Christmas. Weddings of friends and extended family. One of the biggest regrets I have is, missing the funeral of one of my longest, dearest friends. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone, and just taken whatever consequences came. At the time, I thought I HAD to complete the task I was on.
But, my own daughter’s wedding is not something I’m going to miss. Not for something like a confirmation vote.
Oh well... no one has to worry about me becoming a Senator. I drank to excess in High School and college. And, my friends would have many embarrassing stories to tell.
