The Senate Judiciary Committee voted to advance Brett Kavanaughs Supreme Court nomination on Friday after Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) secured a deal to delay a floor vote on the nomination for a week.

Fully agree ... but he’s gotta have the votes!
They can ask the FBI, the FBI can say no, and that would be that. I am not sure what that accomplishes except Flake gets to act like a Flake. He can be a no....then it is a tie, which Pence breaks. Game over. I think Flake just likes being a pain in the ass....anything to screw Trump. Yet Trump wins in the end. Just go home A-hole
Who trusts the FBI????
Don't forget the sisterhood... that's two right there.
If he has the votes he sure can.
He'll vote 'no' if there's a week delay (but probably longer) after a few more lying loons come out of the woodwork.
Flake probably won’t support K if he doesn’t get that week.
Flake probably won’t support K if he doesn’t get that week.
The FBI has repeatedly say they wouldn’t investigate it.
This is another delay tactic.
The Senate has not done this yet. Trump has essentially betrayed all those people, such as Graham, who stuck their necks out to support Kavanaugh. This is almost unbelievable. Its a nightmare.
Provide a link, please.
But not Flakes vote.
My thought too, there is a vulnerable DEM who is being quiet right now.
The key now is Collins and Murkowski. And/or the red state rats, three of whom have already announced no— Tester (MT), McCaskill(MO)and Donnelly (IN) with Machin (WV) leaning that way.
The Senate cannot order an FBI investigation - the DOJ or the President can. Even if the FBI investigated, it would just be a report on what is already known ... in other words, Flake is stalling for his Dem friends.
The circus will continue for another week.
Avenatti must be ecstatic. He’s back in business.
As far as I’m concerned, he’s just doing a CYA with the misandrist vote.
It won’t go that far. It wouldn’t surprise me if Mitch calls the senate into session most ricky-tic!!!
Thats it! Flake voted it out of committee. The only leverage he now has on the floor vote is to vote no if their isn’t an FBI investigation and that investigation limited to the allegations at hand can delay that vote for up to one week.
Flake can wvote no but he cannot order a FBI investigation and he cannot control Mitch.
So unless his vote is absolutely required it doesn’t matter if there is an investigation or not. Flake gave cover to the to women. They took the FBI story to cover their yes votes. Now Flake can declare, after a few days, the investigation complete and vote YES.
Call me a sunny optimist but it is a viable scenario.
Does anyone have a count of the votes that we HAVE in the full Senate vs. what the Dems have?
