What do you think is going on?

I think the Democrats are trying to create a precedent for dragging the FBI into this process so that they can create endless delay on all future nominees.

Islamocrats have all kinds of dirty tricks to delay.

Any delay means more dirtbags (they have tons of poor losers Soros can pay) will come out to throw more feces against the wall.

Barletta is too good for Keystoners. They won’t back him.

The most likely thing going on is a lack of 50 votes to confirm and this is an attempt to get to 50 by giving the holdouts an excuse to vote yes.

The other possibility is worry over the optics of shoving the vote through with the midterms coming, but I give that a lower probability.

The FBI needs to state publicLy...that the MATTER IS CLOSED!

The FBI has already investigated Kavanaugh six times, and has told members of Congress TWICE, that this matter is outside their jurisdiction.

At this point, Mitch McConnell can simply reiterate those facts to the wiffle waffling Senators and the press. There's really nothing more the FBI can (or should) do.

The Dem senators are ecstatic about this, praising Flake. Do you really think they will sit quietly for a week then sat ok we lost?

If I’m Kavanaugh I tell them hell no you ain’t putting my family through this, vote Monday either way or I’m out.

This is absolute bullshit.

Asking a Senator who already retired and is seat-warming because he knows 85% of his state hates him, and he's anguishing over making a vote he doesn't want to make, might not be a non-starter.

Flake might not even need to come back for the lame duck session if there won't be any legislation to vote on.

He is too much a man to let them win.

Thank God.

“Are there any DEMs to counter his vote in the full Senate?”

Heitkamp and Manchin seem to be the only possibilities at
This point.

Same deal they offered about a week ago. Seems like a week ago, might be less. This tells you they know Ford is total BS.

Lot of people talking here about an investigation. They will get a 48 hour debate and then vote.

I seriously doubt McConnell would ever agree to any such delaying tactic. There’s not a shrewd or credible evidence against this well- qualified nominee and the Senators will be in major serious trouble at elections if they do t commodity their damn jobs and confirm him now

I just found out there is good reason to believe that James Forrestal was assassinated.

If they can assassinate a former Sec. of Defense then no one is safe.

I agree with you. They should hold the vote, but if they had the vote right now he would not be confirmed. As you probably saw, Murkoswki and Manchin now say they will not support Kavanaugh without an FBI investigation. Trump (and probably even Bush) will be working behind the scenes to get the votes. The reality is if they don’t have the votes now (or after some horse trading) they will not have the votes after an FBI investigation. So McConnell should go ahead and call the vote, but it looks likely Kavanaugh may not be confirmed......
