The Senate Judiciary Committee voted to advance Brett Kavanaugh’s Supreme Court nomination on Friday after Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) secured a deal to delay a floor vote on the nomination for a week.

We know the FBI is corrupt. That’s why all those Dem senators were asking for an FBI investigation. They have friends in the FBI who will manufacture new allegations. Then we’re screwed. Vote now!

This is really stupid by Flake and Murkowski. The FBI would interview Mark Judge and the other two people at the supposed party. All of them will deny knowledge of the party or seeing Kavanaugh do anything, consistent with their statements already to the committee.
Can’t vote if you don’t have the votes.
Something else is up. Trump jumped in way too quickly.
Sat vote is to close cloture.
FBI could open an official investigation, then immediately determine that the charges don’t constitute a federal crime, the statute of limitations for state crimes past, no evidence, no location, no date. Then close the investigation immediately.
What do you think is going on?
Nothing is going to change their minds. But they still want all the insurance they can get in terms of (1) delaying the vote, (2) allowing time for more allegations to surface, and (3) the hope for just one word or phrase in an FBI report that gives them something to latch on to or twist into a nefarious charge.
Next week is going to be an absolute circus.
No just vote. If we delay Kavanaugh is assured to lose the nomination.
Tell Flake that since he's already retired, just leave now and let the Governor appoint a replacement in time for the floor vote on Kavanaugh.
Tell Flake that it's no longer his problem, his conscience is clear, he won't have to make the final vote on Kavanaugh, and go home and live well with your family.

Part of me thinks this worked well for the GOP. The Dems have made this "FBI investigation" their final talking point, and when the FBI inevitably comes back with nothing new, they got nothing. What are they supposed to find in a few days that they didn't in years and years?
Also, Flake explicitly stated "delay for a week to allow the FBI to investigate, it may not take a week." Sounds like it could even last one day.
Just do it anyway. Kavanaugh does not have a chance to survive a week. Hell, it might not survive until Saturday.
Look up the Biden clip from the 1991 hearings where an FBI investigation had in fact been completed and he lambasted people for saying it meant anything because it is just information and they reached no conclusions - and those who say an FBI report on something like this means anything “knows and understands nothing!”
That whole story smelled....Yet, no deep investigation.

The problem is with the Republican primary voters in AZ and AK and a lot of other places too.
I just watched the vid on CNN. The instant Flake ended, Grassley ordered the clerk to call the roll. DiFi then interjected something. Flake asked Grassley to let her talk. Grassley said “The clerk will call the role” ignoring both Flake and Feinstein. Grassley said they could discuss it after the vote. I doubt a discussion after the vote has any meaning.
Now the jockeying for the full Senate vote starts.

If true, I wonder what is in the report that they don’t want the sheep to know about.
