The Senate Judiciary Committee hears testimony from Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Professor Christine Blasey Ford about her allegations that Judge Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her while the two were teenagers.

That could be because they already know they have the votes. I don't necessarily agree that they should be doing nothing even if they know Kavanaugh is in.
Only thing missing is the Late Great Senator Howell Hefflin and his questions about seeing and talking about “Genitalia”.

That old fart was re-elected in 2016. By the time he has to run again, he will be approximately 112, but I wouldn’t put it past him to run again. These politicians stay in office until they are mummified.
