Kavanaugh to Give Senate Calendars From 1982 to Back Up Denial
The New York Times ^ | September 23, 2018 | Pete Baker

Posted on 09/23/2018 2:36:20 PM PDT by Raebie

WASHINGTON — Judge Brett M. Kavanaugh has calendars from the summer of 1982 that he plans to hand over to the Senate Judiciary Committee that do not show a party consistent with the description of his accuser, Christine Blasey Ford, according to someone working for his confirmation.

The calendars do not disprove Dr. Blasey’s allegations, Judge Kavanaugh’s team acknowledged. He could have attended a party that he did not list. But his team will argue to the senators that the calendars provide no corroboration for her account of a small gathering at a house where he allegedly pinned her to a bed and tried to remove her clothing.

The calendars show, according to the person working for his confirmation, that he was out of town much of the summer at the beach or away with his parents. When he was at home, the calendars list his basketball games, movie outings, football workouts and college interviews. A few parties are mentioned but include names of friends other than those identified by Dr. Blasey.

There’s nothing wrong with Kavanaugh’s people getting this out there.

Nothing at all.

It’s a good thing.

It doesn’t reflect on him that Senate Judiciary under Republicans are doing what they do.

But even they have limits. Lindsey Graham-nesty has already defined his limits and he’s one of the swamp creatures. He made a good statement that, if followed through, is about the best we can hope for from his type.

Graham-nesty is on public record now in a tv interview. We can’t say the same, yet, about this calendar report. It’s a report without the calendars. I like it that he has records and a good attorney and can put her on notice she’s not getting a cakewalk if she appears...

Again, assuming the calendar report is true and accurate...

He has a lot in common with Ted Cruz. A detail man, Ultra high IQ, strong recall.

If the person quoted had seen a wall calendar, he/she would have described it that way. To me it sounds like he manually drew the boxes onto a sheet of paper. A guy this organized would do something like that.

I used to do things like that (the engineer in me) until tools like VisiCalc made it a lot easier to do on the computer.

“What if Ford’s attorney wants the calendars as a condition of testifying.....”

One possible answer: “Provide us the unredacted letter from Ford to Eschoo that you have been hiding.”

It might have been a split level house with no bathroom on the main floor, a very common design.

I think there was a report that claimed McConnell told the President - “anybody but Kavanaugh” or something to that effect. Never really any source.

I’m doing some genealogical research on our family. What I would give to have a treasure trove like my Mom’s diary or her Mom’s or even further back!

Perhaps - that doesn’t seem like a huge distinction. Still a months worth of days per page - and small boxes for notes. Maybe he was a tiny writer.

You mean just like both of my split levels. BOTH had a bathroom up and down.

“54 guys” — try to find an original source for that. The best I found Is it originated in some brief social media post by some anonymous person. Nobody has ever shown a screen cap of that social media post, either.

It could be pure gossip.

It smacks of “Obama was born in Kenya” and just makes conservatives look stupid.

Yes, but probably no bathroom on the middle part, right? If they were partying on the middle floor with the living room, kitchen, and dining room, they had to go either upstairs or downstairs to get to a bathroom.

It will cause more problems than it will solve, just watch.

Chrissy Ford is already discredited. Her story is a lie and full of holes as it stands right now.

I don’t know of any lawyer who voluntarily gives a judge (for example) more information than is required to make his case. Why? Because you already won the case (decision), and more information cannot help at that point, but it somehow can hurt.

You go DOWN 2-4 stairs or UP 13 stairs (a full flight) to the second floor.

I’m a bit older that the nominee, but at time was several years into both the Apple II and Apple II+. These were late 70s machines, and quite capable of keeping calendars. My guess I have disks with calendars from those years. College was a bit earlier, but as someone who writes things down due to a mediocre memory, if computers were around, I’d probably have calendars somewhere. It’s not odd.

I think that’s the thing. Hoity-toity prep schools where all males are being groomed for high positions, even POTUS, would stress keeping detailed schedule notes.
