Britany Jacobs, the girlfriend of the man shot and killed in a Florida parking lot last week, says her boyfriend was just coming to her defense and the gunman wanted someone to be angry at. Now she wants justice, she says.
Jacobs, who witnessed the shooting along with the couples 5-year-old son, said she and her two small children were waiting in the car for her boyfriend, Markeis McGlockton, while he ran into a convenience store in Clearwater, Florida. Onlooker Michael Drejka got out of his parked car and began harassing her about being parked in a handicap space, she said.
Surveillance video showed McGlockton exiting the store and shoving Drejka to the ground. Drejka then drew a handgun and shot and killed McGlockton.

Could have, but it didn't, and that had already happened. Shooting someone for what they already did is not self-defense. There was no deadly threat at the moment the trigger was pulled, the shover was backing off.
I tell you the guy apparently lived in this particular parking lot in his vehicle during the course of the day, day in and day out, and made a habit of "confronting" people who parked in "his" special space(s) - and you just totally ignore that fact.
So we have to conclude that you PERSONALLY believe that armed territorial whackjobs should be able to hang out in public parking lots and "take issue" with any random person that uses the parking lot.
You and other posters are saying its ok to kill people who push you down.
Good thing you werent armed on the playground
The assault already occurred, and the damage was already done.
The time for him to move away was before he shoved the man for no reason.
OOPS!
There was a female protester on the local news last night. She says she parks in the exact same handicapped spot all the time when she wants to get in and out of the store quickly.
So seriously, you think that if someone talks to your girlfriend or wife about a parking space she is not supposed to be parked in, that ENTITLES you to go shove him viciously to the ground (as bad as any punch). Where the hell is that in the law???????? What ridiculous crap.
What happened, did DU kick all you guys out today so you came here?
Ask the dead kids at the high school down there.
Her boyfriend did not approach the man until the man was seen yelling at his girlfriend.
What would you do if someone was close to your wife yelling at her?
I think the loud mouth got decked, just like he deserved. He had no authority to take matters into his own hand.
Who instigated all this?
The Black guy? LOL, no way...
He doesn’t need an excuse.
What was the assailant’s excuse?
‘Cuz he needed one, but did not get one.
I never said it did.
.
I agree with your assessment. Clearly, the person who pushed down the shooter is moving away once the weapon comes out.
It doesn’t mean the man was justified in pushing the shooter down. I believe the shooter was justified in pulling out his weapon. I don’t think the shooter was in danger once the weapon came out though. And I think he made a bad decision to fire.

Deceased has a record of violent crime. I found at least three separate arrests on the record, the above being one example.
Shooter does not - no criminal record whatsoever.
Deceased continued to move in the direction of the shooter after pushing him, before the gun was pulled.
Don’t initiate violence against strangers = don’t get shot. It’s not that hard, for people who aren’t violent criminals.
Wrong, brah.
The shove could have killed him.
It was not just a little push now was it?
I have very little sympathy for the guy that allowed himself to get too angry about the parking infraction, took matters into his own hands to give the female of the two grief over it, and then objected to the male figure separating the two of them by pushing him away.
Pulling a weapon and shooting a man who pushed you away from yelling at his wife, just doesnt seem warranted to me.
This escalated solely due to the man jumping in where he shouldnt have, and I think a judge sooner or later will come to that same conclusion.

Making up facts won’t make it so. There is a video, I suggest you watch it. The man that got pushed to the ground was pushed so hard that he was actually lifted off the ground, he hit hard and the fall could have killed him or at least caused permanent physical damage.
The guy that got pushed never touched anyone, he simply pointed out she was parking in a handicapped space, no crime in that. If it had been a person with no chip on shoulder she would have probably said she was sorry and would be leaving in just a minute. Instead she had to get out of the car to pick a fight with the guy so her old man, baby daddy or whatever could have a chance to get even with the old white guy. If the guy watches the parking space day in and day out there is nothing wrong with it, perhaps he will keep the space free for someone who needs it.
Black guy is dead but black guy, baby mama both helped that to happen.
If the baby daddy had come out and told the old white guy to go bug off or just ignored him, every body would still be happy.
If you do something stupid you are liable to get something stupid.
Why don’t you tell us what he said to her.
That didn’t even make sense.
The man who approached the car was the initial aggressor.
He had no business approaching the woman.
As for the person who committed assault, he was protecting his wife/girlfriend.
The initial aggressor was close to her and yelling at her.
Hey, you do that, you open yourself up to being take to task for it. He was.
Maybe next time he’ll go about his own business, if he’s not in prison by then.
How about just getting into your car and driving away?
Could that be because he was attacked physically this time?
Keep thinking. You might get there,
” My point is we have to many people killing others and so many seem to not really care.....
Would it be any better if the government did the killing? I don’t think it would be. “We” exercise our rights, the government exercises it’s authority. Plz re-read the Constitution. The rights belong to the People, to be enforced by the People. When the government enforces our rights it is only enforcing its authority in the name of others. It’s a false sense of freedom.
Like this whackjob did.
I won't try to change your mind on that.
