"Impeach him for what?" Gowdy said. "No."
"I've had my differences with Rod Rosenstein," said Gowdy, who chairs the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. "I talk to him quite often privately, which again is a lot more constructive than the public hearings we have."
(Excerpt) Read more at thehill.com ...
Please post that information here. I’d be curious to know about the relationship between these two characters over time.
Trey Gowdy is the mouth that roared.
Talks a good game but is worthless.
In this case it is congress’s responsibility to impeach him.
I wish I didn’t have to write this but Gowdy is the quintessential politician. He has hired handlers to help him form his “opinions” and then says what they think the voters want to hear, but never follows up. He is in it only for the betterment of himself.
Trey is looking more and more like a deep state enabler ...
Gowdy is the same disingenuous deep state operative that encouraged Trump that "if he hadn't robbed the bank, he should sit down with Mueller" and testify.
TWEET!!!!
.
Bruce G. Ohr was associate deputy attorney general, a post that placed him four doors down from his boss, Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
Ohr - Associate Deputy AG
Rosenstein - Deputy AG
In Government parlance, Ohr was Rosensteins deputy. No closer relationship.
Ohrs wife was the piece that would keep Strzok, McCabe, Brennan, Clapper, Comey, Yates and more from risking their freedom. Everyone of them will claim they had no idea what Nellie Ohr was doing.
And, more importantly, everything was contained in the tight DC Hdqtrs where everyone had 25 yrs in and drank the same Kool Aid.
.
I see ... but wasn’t Ohr in that post before Rosenstein was appointed? And hasn’t he been demoted since then?
No arrests for “Benghazi” and it appears that everything going on with the FBI, DOJ, NSA, CIA, etc, etc is ENTIRELY LEGAL!!!!! How “successful” was Gowdy as a prosecutor because he can’t find anyone guilty of ANYTHING in the SWAMP!!!!!!!!
Gowdy is consistent in one way. He talks tough during hearings, but when it comes time to act, he does nothing.
.
Yes, but there are much less tenuous links where the DOJ pressured to recuse.
Such as the NY US Atty with Cohen appointed by Trump.
And one must ask why Ohr has a job?
Why is Strzok getting paid today?
The recusal game is a scam. No one recused in 8 yrs of Obama.
And the game now will be to push Kavanaugh to agree to recuse.
Look up what Old Ginsburg had to say about Trump. Kagan didnt recuse, either.
More info: Strzok and Page were tipped off about their Texts being read.
Mueller meeting with IG is most likely suspect ethically.
.
He will clear his voice, stretch out his great southern accent, bring out the prosecutorial theater, intending to make great clips for the evening news and for youtube. He knows that conservatives are watching.
Then when the cameras are pointing away, when it does count, he runs over to Paul Ryan to be his bag boy for the deep state.
This game has been played over and over, it is not a surprise anymore.
Please don't hold your breath, waiting for Trey Gowdy to do anything meaningful, if the deep state machine is going to be affected.
Hes part of the deep state
Congress is Constitionally tasked with oversight of the department of justice and the FBI. Rosenstein is stonewalling Congress. Therefore, Congress is with its powers and its right to impeach him and remove him from office.
And more importantly, their responsibility. Congress needs to do their damned job instead of producing dramas.
I don’t like the idea of Congress being loaded with rich people (Hey, they are all rich now!) but President Trump came into the job so wealthy that he cannot be bought. The great thing with him is he truly is a patriot so he isn’t there to accumulate more wealth.
I love the fact he is not a lawyer but a successful businessman. He knows how to get things done and doesn’t bandy about nor hide and obfuscate with words.
This sound like it?

Why AG Sessions declined to appoint a special counsel
By Thomas Lifson
snippy snippy
First of all, while the IG cannot convene a grand jury and subpoena witnesses outside the DOJs employees, Huber can. And the IG can and does make criminal referrals. There is tremendous inside expertise on the DOJ resident in the IGs organization, meaning that there is no start-up delay and no learning curve in getting to work on abuses. So, with the IG digging up information, and referring it to Huber, further steps, including subpoenas to former DOJ and FBI employees, such as Andrew McCabe and James Comey, can be taken before a grand jury in Utah. Any indictments issued by that grand jury presumably could be tried before a federal jury in Utah, whereas a special counsel would most likely work with courts in the District of Columbia, Virginia, or Maryland, beltway strongholds. Which jury pool would you prefer? The District of Columbia or Utah?
Even more importantly, there is reason to believe that a lot of work already is underway by Huber and his staff. Scott Bixby in The Daily Beast:
Asked when exactly Huber had begun evaluating issues raised by the committees addressed in the letter, Department of Justice spokesperson Sarah Isgur Flores told The Daily Beast only that Huber started in advance of the Nov. 13th letter. In that November letter, sent by Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd to the House Judiciary Committee, congressional leaders were told that senior prosecutors reporting directly to Sessions will make recommendations as to whether any matters not currently under investigation should be opened.
Speaking this morning on Fox & Friends, Sara Carter said that IG has already made criminal referrals on FISA abuses, according to her DOJ sources. These presumably would have been referred to Huber.
In other words, knowledgeable and experienced IG investigators are working with an experienced and unimpeachable (Obama-appointed) US Attorney to go after suspected abuses. Appointing a special counsel would necessitate starting all over again, beginning with recruiting staff, and then taking a lot of time to familiarize themselves with the evidence developed to date, and learning about the procedures and rules of the FBI and DOJ.
