Top Democratic Sen. Charles E. Schumer shot down suggestions Tuesday that his party would boycott committee meetings or Senate floor action to try to derail President Trump’s Supreme Court pick.
Liberal activists have demanded Mr. Schumer use every tool at his disposal to try to thwart the elevation of Judge Brett Kavanaugh to the high court, including parliamentary delays.
Mr. Schumer, though, said there aren’t a lot of good tools left to the minority party to delay action now that both parties have curtailed the filibuster, and he said boycotting the committee or floor would just leave Republicans more space to get their way.

If Schumer and the Dems would boycott then at least the whole place would smell better. That’s something.

If you can’t stop it, what is the point of delaying the confirmation? It is just a display of sour grapes. You lost the election. Try better next time.

I suspect that they will be in a WEAKER position AFTER the mid-terms.
The Dems are the Blue Party ‘cause when they don’t get their way, they hold their breath ‘til they turn blue.
About all Chuckie has left in his bag of tricks is to have his aides call in a steady stream of bomb threats during the confirmation hearings.
Maybe the hearings should be held at the Cold War doomsday shelter in WV (Greenbrier).
McConnell should whip up 51 votes and be done.
You can bet Shumer would ram it home that way.

Delaying the confirmation leaves the door open for the Senate to flip to a Dem majority.

How many Democrats announced they would vote "no" before they even learned who the nominee was?
Imagine the Democrats' reaction if even ONE Republican senator announced they were voting "yes" no matter who Trump's pic was?
I think behind the scenes the Democrats told Trump they’d be ok with Kavanaugh.
Schumer who loves to run to the cameras finally is like the dog who caught the car, he appears to be frozen in the headlights - no idea how to react.
The polls must be bad. They had 8 years of Obama, 2 in particular, in which they rammed through Obamacare. Most of what BO did was stupidly through EOs, so they wasted energy. Then add tge disaster campaign & crimes of Hillary... In the end, they did it all to themselves.
Schumer should be asked that if he fails to prevent the confirmation of Kavanaugh, will he resign? Put some pressure on that blabbermouth.
