Even though the Fourth of July is seen as a holiday of unity for all Americans, there were still some in the political world who chose to use the holiday to send a partisan message.
In particular, Democratic Senator and potential 2020 candidate Kamala Harris tweeted odd political commentary on Wednesdays holiday, erroneously claiming that eight immigrants signed the Declaration of Independence.
....The point is also strange because America was not an independent nation at the time and therefore had no immigration laws of its own yet. It is safe to say the internet reacted badly to the Democrat Senators tweet.

She appears to be quite the slut, Jim.
Umm...anchor baby?
The Democrats won’t be able to protect her if she runs for POTUS. Stupid remarks of hers will ruin any campaign.
Now, now...I'm sure her legal skills are as good as Obama's.
That's not how it works in campaigns. The messaging wouldn't come from the GOP or the White House.
Actually all 56 were British...
they were all the same nationality at the time of signing...
Just from different parts of the nation...
it would be like coming from another state, or territory...
You could say those 8 were from Puerto Rico or St Thomas or Guam...all Americans...no immigrants...
Every right to travel to another part of their own lands..
England is still the same about British born travelers...
The first time I went to England, I had a New Zealand passport...I breezed on through customs and immigration...
Now with my American passport that states I was born in NZ, I have had no hold ups in the airports of either London, Glasgow or Belfast...
When Ive gone back to NZ they just smile at me and welcome me home while the other Americans on the plane are held up !!!
Yeah its like that and that’s how it would have been with these rich middle to upper class educated men...remember they were not steerage as this ijit would try to make you believe...
They just traveled from one state to another...
In my part of the country youre not an immigrant if you travel from Nashville to Atlanta or New York...heck even San Fran...(Just stupid for that last one)
Kamala Harris is in the same vein as Moosechelle Obama who famously stated that the first time she ever felt proud of America was when she was 45 years old and her husband was just elected president. Both women are commie scum.
I’ve been proud of America every day of my stinking life. I have hated many politicians and I have hated the government generally, but I have ALWAYS been proud of the Unites States of America.
Harris and the rest of the commie scum like here, would rather live in Moscow if they could.
But that would be a resume enhancement in the Democratic primary system.
Which of the 57 states were the others born in?
More chlorine definitely needed in her gene pool.....
Several POTUS wannabes aren’t eligible but even on FR you might get called names for bringing that up.
great minds
That animated GIF is nearly enough to make me puke.
Thanks to his pimp, McRino.
This is something that is completely baffling to me.
When candidates submit their papers and declare their candidacy, it should be mandatory to submit proof of who and what you are, using standard requirements, to prove you are eligible for whatever office you are running for.
Really. Is it me? Why is this so hard to understand, implement, and enforce? It isn’t difficult. The requirements are delineated in the Constitution, at least for Federal office.
I understand fully why they don’t require photo ID for voting, and it isn’t because of disenfranchisement, it is because those who oppose it want to commit fraud. Plain and simple.
But running for office? That can, should, and MUST be enforced, and the fact that it isn’t is disturbing for me.
Correct. She just loves that word “immigrant.” I’ll bet it gets cheers in SF.
2 FROM ENGLAND, OTHER 6 FROM ENGLAND SUBJUGATED COUNTRIES, Ireland, Scotland, Wales. No mention of Washington, Franklin, Hancock, Jefferson or all the main ones.
Only History buffs would know them, https://declaration.fas.harvard.edu/faq/how-many-signers-were-born-american-colonies
All signers of the Declaration were British citizens.
