All 12 boys and their football coach have been found alive after nine days missing in caves in Thailand, the regional governor says.
All 13 are safe, the governor confirmed, speaking after a mammoth search operation in the Tham Luang caves in Chiang Rai.
Rescuers had hoped they would find safety from flooding on a mound in an underground chamber.
The group's plight gripped the country and led to an outpouring of support.
Rising water and mud had impeded the search by divers.

Good news.
PRAISE THE LORD!!!!!!!........................
Holy moly! Amazing!
I posted this on the prior thread but it didn’t show up.
Mrs. Flash got the news from the Thai news station about ten minutes ago. She says that they are still in the cave, and there will be some work to do to get them out safely.
She also said that all non-essential people have been removed from the cave entrance area and ambulances have been massed to deal with the kids and their coach as they are extracted from the cave.
The worst days of those parents lives, but then comes relief.
Great news!
Thank God.
Trapped in a mine that had caved in
And everyone knows the only ones left
Were Joe and me and Tim
When they broke through to pull us free
The only ones left to tell the tale
Were Joe and me
Timothy, Timothy, where on earth did you go?
Timothy, Timothy, God why don’t I know?
Hungry as hell no food to eat
And Joe said that he would sell his soul
For just a piece of meat
Water enough to drink for two
And Joe said to me, “I’ll have a swig
And then there’s some for you.”
Timothy, Timothy, Joe was looking at you
Timothy, Timothy, God what did we do?
I must have blacked out just around then
‘Cause the very next thing that I could see
Was the light of the day again
My stomach was full as it could be
And nobody ever got around
To finding Timothy
Timothy
Very lucky. I heard about this story last week, and put it out of my mind. I was certain they would either never be found because of the unstable environment for searching, or the boys would have died. Those tours need to stop until more trails have been reinforced and mapped out.
Too many such tourists will speed up the erosion.
Now that’s winning!!
Boys being boys - being part of a team, being adventurous. Its how men are made.
So glad they are safe!
That was going to be my post - "Where's Timothy?"
Very morbid, especially in light of this outcome.
Praise God! I needed to hear good news. This makes me happy, very happy.
Explain to me why they decided to go in a cave before torrential rains in the first place ... (Glad they’re alive)
Minor miracle. It’ll be interesting to learn how they managed to survive for nine days.
Great news.
One report (IIRC) said some 1500 rescue workers from various nations were assisting in the effort to find them.
