President Donald Trump revealed on Thursday that First Lady Melania Trump was at the Southern border, visiting facilities detaining children who entered the country illegally.
The president revealed the nature of her trip during a cabinet meeting at the White House.
“It really bothered her … as it bothered me, as it bothered everybody at this table,” Trump said. “We’re all bothered by it.”
The First Lady’s Communications Director Stephanie Grisham spoke about the trip during the flight to Texas with reporters.
“She wanted to see everything for herself. … She supports family reunification. She thinks that it’s important that children stay with their families,” she said.
The First Lady is scheduled to tour two law enforcement facilities in McAllen Texas — The Ursula Border Patrol Processing Center and a Customs and Border Patrol/DHS intake center.
She first appeared at the New Hope Children’s Shelter, an HHS grantee facility run by Lutheran Social Services to care for the children.
During the visit, the First Lady asked the managers of the facility if the children were well cared for, educated, and had access to communicate with their parents or adult family members.
“This was 100 percent her idea. She absolutely wanted to come,” Grisham said. “She wants to see what’s happening for herself and she wants to lend her support.”

Agreed. Melania has shown without a word the hypocrisy of all the former first ladies who had to weigh in on this.

Speaking of blood in the water - they are going to get some mileage out of a coat she was pictured wearing while getting on the airplane in Maryland (not seen in Texas). On the back was printed, “I Really Don’t Care. Do U?”
Signing an executive order forbidding the separation of parents and children (i.e. standard operating procedure for any other detention or incarceration) was a bad move to begin with. It was a capitulation to media spin for the sake of PR and makes it look like an admission that there was something inherently wrong with common-sense immigration law enforcement.

One hundred percent in agreement with you. We should be ending financial aid to all South American countries and threatening them with a military ultimatum: Cease exporting your poor people to the U.S. for U.S. taxpayers to support.
(There are 41 entitlement programs administered by the federal government which illegals are eligible for once they can bring a child in with them.)
Straighten out your economy and your crime rings. Or we will do it for you and you will not like the way we do it. Anything else is cowering before the enemy. Which is what these countries truly are.
This is invasion of a sovereign nation and it is to the economic advantage of all of these corrupt South American regimes. Pandering to pro illegal alien public opinion (phony poll results) and the left radical pro-open border media, when your country is being colonized/sodomized on a daily basis, with no push back in sight, is absolute suicide.
We need concertina wire and dogs on the border with U.S. military backup. The first hundred or so invaders who are maimed or seriously injured and forced back as a result will trigger the end of border breaking once for all.
In the meantime we can ask ourselves why in DC the status of the border between N Korea and S Korea is so much more vitally important to the feds than the southern border of our own nation?

Good news bump, POTUS and FLOTUS have both moved quickly to shift the narrative on this situation which has the potential to overwhelm other more important narratives.
Much harder for the fake news to spin this story negatively now, especially when compared to how Obama handled a similar situation.

Truly, why didn’t someone warn her......maybe she didn’t know the words were there, or it was photoshopped.
We are blessed to have her as our First Lady.
She’s gorgeous.
For me, I enjoy seeing her out and about because she’s delightful to look at.
Anyone thinking The Donald wasn’t in on this, isn’t firing on all cylinders.
No we aren't. Some of us are not bothered by it one little bit. It may be tough, but the kids will eventually get reunited, but it sends a real tough message to border crossers - don't do it or risk losing your kids. There was a Mexican mother yesterday quoted as saying she wouldn't risk an illegal crossing if it meant losing her kids. THAT is what we need to see!
