In brief, Antony Bourdain wore his anti-corporate hipness on his shirtsleeve, always smirking and snarking that evil corporations and crass commercialism repelled him.
But he gleefully signed on as a shameless tourism agent for the Castro-Family-and-Military Crony-Crime Syndicate, a thieving, murdering criminal-corporate empire that makes the Mafia look like Boy Scouts of America.
I will never eat in his (Donald Trumps) restaurant. I have utter contempt for him, utter and complete contempt
Im not going. Im not going. (Anthony Bourdain, Eater.)

Thanks, my Dad’s family was from WV, but he never would admit it LOL! We are from Ohio!
I have my Grand Uncles Tiple and Fiddle hanging on the living room wall.
I used to fly over Cuba enroute to Brazil, Argentina etc.
That was as close as I want to get to that stinking s#ithole. Tourists will never see the real “cuber,” the rulers are not proud of the sad mess.
Another s#ithole is Haiti. From 35,000 feet above, the contrast between Haiti and the Dominican Republic is unbelievable. DomRep is green, lush with clear waters surrounding the east side of the island that is shared with Haiti. To the west, it is barren, brown, arid and the runoff from the rivers create a brown ring around the western side of the island.
This is what you get when you have a “President for Life!”
Bourdain wasn’t Italian.
So now you are dead by your own hand and will miss Trumps image being carved into Mt. Rushmore. What a shame.
Why the left lavished praise on him, and why I didn’t.
Well parts of Ohio might as well be in West Virginia! All of southeastern Ohio is part of Appalachia. Beautiful area, nice friendly people.
Marietta, Ohio, a lovely little city, is across the river from Parkersburg, West Virginia, used to have a steamboat festival. I don't know if they still do. There's a lovely old hotel in that town, the Lafayette, right on the Ohio River.
The great William Claude - who always had trouble around the dinner table if you watch his movies as relentlessly as I do.
I never watched one minute of his show. I am too saintly for that.
Did he really say, when asked what he would cook for President Trump, that he would poison him? A FReeper posted that earlier. Let’s publicize that if true.
Love FR, hate CNN.
:)
i had never even heard of this guy before he offed himself
Good assessment. I agree he was a complex character. George Webb points out he went to a lot of places that were attractive to intelligent types and that he may have allowed agents on his advanced teams. Was there more going on then we realize?
I grew up in the NE Ohio 14 mi from PA, but went to plenty of bluegrass festivals in WV and KY
kind of a tristate anthem..

More proof Bourdain was a bad cook! Shooting pigs? We all know that animals need to be slaughtered humanely as possible - otherwise the meat becomes tough and rigid as nails.
(Anthony Bourdain, Dead Eater.
He just plain eats...or ant least he used to.
His father was French.
” even if Parma is a suburb of Cleveland LOL”
Parma is mostly Polish. Turn blue knif! White socks?
“To be honest, I dont shed any tears for Bourdain because I rarely ever thought of him while he was among the living.”
To be honest, I never heard of him before he croaked.
“I never watched one minute of his show. I am too saintly for that.”
Well, I’ll never approach being saintly and I did watch a reasonable bit of his shows. Early on reckoned him to be arrogant and lacking civility. Never heard of him having a “chef’s surprise” for DJT.
I saw that. He was hungry and was served tuna casserole, which he seemed to enjoy (after some snarky comments).
“...but I found it on the Internet.”
I read it. He was too late. At best a gallows conversion.
