CBS Wants to Know if Citizen Who Stopped OKC Shooter Had Permit
FinkelBlog ^ | Mark Finkelstein

“CBS This Morning” gave generally fair coverage today to yesterday’s shooting at an Oklahoma City restaurant in which an armed citizen shot and killed the assailant.

But CBS couldn’t help but let the MSM’s fixation on gun control creep in. At the end of the segment, the CBS reporter on the scene, David Begnaud, said:

“We asked the police if that armed civilian had a permit to carry his weapon, and they told us they didn’t know but they were looking into it.”

Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

*bribe.

A sum of money paid to a governmental official which magically makes what was illegal, legal— for you.

“What if the citizen didn’t have a permit? Would CBS like to see him prosecuted?”

You bet your bippy they would.

Which FreeRepublic are you used to reading?

I’m not familiar with the one that, apparently, concerns itself with paying bribes to obtain permission slips to exercise Constitutional Rights.

Oklahoma may give him a parade, lifetime football tickets to OU, and a nice plaque.

“What is the basis for asking him if he has a CC or any other permit?” I’m guessing that on his attorneys advice the guy will probably go before a Grand Jury so to indemnify him from civil prosecution. No worries, he will be no-billed. I’m willing to bet a sizable sum on it 🤑.....

The state that I hold my CC in requires you to show it to LEO if asked to present. I don’t think he could just say “I’ll not answer any questions”. But then again, if he retrieved his pistol from the car and it was legal to have that in his possession, then its a mute question.

I’m talking about the Free Republic where people have intellectual curiosity.

Wanting to know a fact isn’t an endorsement of anything.

What curiosity should I have about unconstitutional “laws”, other than wondering why they haven’t been set on fire and the ashes plowed into the earth?

CBS This morning is an excellent example of extreme liberal bias each and every day. Gayle King inserts commentary after every story, always from The Left Wing perspective. She really should stick with entertainment stories and weddings, the news is over her head. NorDUH O’Donnell is another lightweight who’s primary focus is feminism and most stories are reported from that angle. The new “guy” is a classic example of metrosexual, I’m sure the kids picked on him in school and I’m sure he regrets having to leave mommies house.

David, the on scene reporter was just awful reporting on Puerto Rico, he’s a Shep New Orleans wannabe.

“We asked the police if that armed civilian had a permit to carry his weapon, and they told us they didn’t know but they were looking into it.”

In the old days, a real journalist would have done the research prior to his report to understand laws that might apply....

Interesting choice of words, “constitutional carry.” The implication is everything else is unconstitutional, and if that is the case, unlawful and void of effect.

:-)

Do they ask this of each and every FELON who still, somehow, despite ALL SORTS OF LAWS, STILL has a gun in his hand?

Obviously CBS was upset that more people weren’t shot.

They hate these stories, armed citizen saves the day proving why it makes sense for Americans to exercise their right to self protection.

"We asked the police if that armed civilian had a permit to carry his weapon,...."

I don't know about laws in OK but in AZ NO PERMIT is required to carry a weapon - including concealed - as long as you are not a "prohibited person". So why does CBS ask such a stupid question unless they have researched the laws in OK? Rhetorical question.
