U.S. Sen. John McCain is feeling better as he recovers from cancer treatment and surgery in Arizona, according to family members and friends.
Arizona's junior U.S. senator, Jeff Flake, told Fox News on Friday that he spoke with McCain by phone that morning, and said his 81-year-old colleague was “doing better” than he had been recently.
In April, McCain underwent surgery for an intestinal infection.
Flake did not go into detail, but he smiled and spoke in a tone of voice that suggested he was pleased or relieved to offer the positive update.

This is to quell calls for McCain to retire.
Purely selfish to the end. He should have retired but no. As I understand it, if he dies before 6/1, they would have a special election. Any idea who those candidates might be? I would like to see the seat return to who it belongs, the people, not the McCains.
If he had his ratings would be higher than mccain's true numbers.

Jimmy Carter was diagnosed with melanoma of the brain and liver back in 2015. In January 2017, he declared himself cancer-free.
It would be the height of irony if McCain made an equally remarkable recovery.
I don’t understand all the passes McCain gets, either. There’s always some extenuating circumstance that allows mean-McCain to continue being stuck on mean-McCain.
Last week they were talking about party, i mean, funeral invitations. Now he’s doing better. Good thing he didn’t send out those invitations just yet, i guess. Would hate to have to reprint all those invites. Regardless, President Trump is still not invited to the party.
An old friend from high school went four years after his initial diagnosis.
Four years seems to be the upper limit for otherwise healthy people. A rare few survive longer.

Then there’s word he chipped in to pay for it. Because the tens of millions paid by Hillary Clinton, the DNC and maybe another million by Obama just wasn’t enough.
