Breaking...
“Rather, pray”
Pray for her family. Too late to pray for her, as she would’ve made That Decision (or not) before her death.
Another post deleted - No matter their disagreements with them, some freepers here need to get beyond their visceral hatred of all things Bush.
Here in ABQ, we are mourning the loss of another very well respected woman. A civic leader, mother of young children, supporter of numerous community programs. Jennifer Riordan lost her life on Southwest Airlines this morning.
“You think the media and democrats will be nice?”
RIP.
May she be bound in the bonds of eternity.
Thanks for clarifying this.
You seem to be allowing your ego and your obsession with the things of THIS world to get ahead of your Master’s teachings; and I will gratefully ‘avoid’.
Blessings to you.
You seem to be assuming you can determine what is of our Lord’s teachings. What an amazing ‘gift’ you have been given. NOT!
Thank you for your graceful avoidance. I will do likewise.
Take care. Peace be with you.
No. But we are, I hope and pray, not like them.
Amen.
And let this ever be so.
Yes. And he's asleep most of the time these days, too. The page doesn't update for over 24 hours sometimes.
FReepers turned me onto this site:
May Barbara Bush rest in peace...
RIP Mrs. Bush.
The were childhood sweethearts. I saw so much coverage of her doting on HW when he was in the hospital that I never knew she had so many health problems. He will be following soon
Hi, dear nutmeg
Agree about Drudge. I very much enjoy the alternate (to Drudge) website you mentioned.
Many thanks.
You are quite the judge and jury. I hope you have many stones to throw
Seriously? You are not the judge/jury?
Our Father is the only ‘judge and jury’.
Hold your stones, dear katie.
My thoughts exactly! I was also thinking that she is now reunited with Robin, the daughter who died of leukemia in 1953 when she was only three.
I wish I could expect better, but the bitterness in our politics on both sides seems unrestrained and irreconcilable even at such a time. Sadly, too many people seem to forget that there is way more to life than politics.
My husband and I spend a week or more each year on the Maine coast. We usually stay not far from the Bush compound in beautiful Kennebunkport. (The pictures on that website do *not* do it justice)
Barbara and George H. W. Bush have been a BIG part of the Kennebunkport community for decades. Their photos are on the walls in most restaurants and shops in town.
George and Barbara would often throw out the first pitch at Hadlock Field... home of the Portland Sea Dogs (AA farm team of the Boston Red Sox).
In Portland (across from Hadlock Field), there is The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center.
We've seen Barbara out watering her flowers (wearing an old housecoat!) in front of the Bush compound. We've also seen George H. W. Bush *speeding like mad* out in the ocean waters off Kennebunkport in his speed boat -- always accompanied by sleek black Secret Service speed boats. Quite a sight to see!
You can tell when the Bushes are 'home' in Kennebunkport: The American, Maine and Texas flags are flying, and Secret Service vehicles (and boats) are on the property. There is a gate and guard shack quite a distance from the houses on the compound -- you can't get that close.
A 3,000 square foot "cottage" was recently built for Jeb at the Walker's Point compound, by the way.
I definitely didn't agree with Barbara Bush about everything, but overall she was a classy lady. I will say a prayer for her and for her family and loved ones. May she rest in peace...
I love Maine and have visited with FRiends twice. We went to the compound and you’re right. Pictures don’t do it justice! RIP, Bar!
A part of my youth died with her
