Anyone thinking President Donald Trump won the omnibus bill battle only had to watch his news conference as he prepared to sign it. This was the most resigned and deflated Mr. Trump weve seen in more than two years.
Deflated, maybe. Not defeated.
In a scene straight out of a boxing movie, Mr. Trump got tagged, wiped the blood off his mouth, then grimly waded in. The haymakers are coming: The Democrats just dont realize it yet. Any defections from Mr. Trumps base at present would return immediately with the next significant victory.
In the past few months, despite hoopla about the Virginia governor race or Pennsylvanias house race, the trends have in fact been going Mr. Trumps way.

Would be much better if President Trump is called President Trump and NOT Mister Trump. It annoys me to see oyr President downgraded to “mister.”
Good grief, it's not a "downgrade." It's common journalistic practice for Presidents of both parties and perfectly acceptable.
The media refers to President Obama... Mr. Trump. What does that say to you?
What President Trump does with this caravan of illegals is gonna “make or break” his presidency. After the Omnibus deal, IF he caves and allows them entry, he’s done....stick a fork in him.
Well said, LS!
You do realize you sound exactly like the MSM and the pollsters throughout the election campaign, right?
And just as stupid and wrong.
It says to me that you really don't know what you're talking about. There are numerous instances of multiple media outlets including NPR, WP, NYT, CBS and countless, countless others who use "President so and so" in the title or opening sentence and then "Mr. so-and-so" throughout the rest of the article.
As I said, it is common journalism.
Hey, wasn’t this LS guy the same one who declared Mueller was a covert Trump ally?
Thank you.
Something I learned here on Free Republic a few years back
You can stick your fork somewhere else, troll.
What President Trump does with this caravan of illegals is gonna make or break his presidency.

Agree.
They were let into Mexico, make them Mexico’s problem, do not let them in here.
Once in they will never leave and millions more will be on their way.
Its acceptable, today, you mean, which is no compliment necessarily.
In fact so much tradition, and respectful treatment of it, is lost. Ignorance and modernity is the preference and result.
I will say that given the moral low bar, or even the intellectual vacuum of recent presidents, because of that, Trump is bigger than the office he now holds.
I noticed exactly this from the Beeb all the time. Obama was never “mr Obama”. But my my my how things change when it comes to PRESIDENT Trump.
common journalism is no hill to die on, Drew.
“...You can stick your fork somewhere else, troll....”
Nope...definitely NOT a troll. Been here for over 10 years and a huge supporter of POTUS, and I want to see him do two full terms and then some.
And...Yes, I know what I posted sounds just like the lame stream media would say, but we must realize that the rest of America is not like us Freepers on here. They only get their news from MSN and that’s what really scares me. No matter what he does, they’re gonna skewer him. It’s almost like the left has set a trap. I’m praying that God gives him the wisdom to handle this in the most appropriate manner that preserves our Republic and his Presidency. God be with him, please.
Some people see a conspiracy everywhere. I'm just setting them straight and doing my part to raise the IQ of this place ever so slightly.
You're welcome.
>>What President Trump does with this caravan of illegals is gonna make or break his presidency. After the Omnibus deal, IF he caves and allows them entry, hes done....stick a fork in him.<<
If Trump doesnt stand up and defy the Congress, the Courts, the Democrats, and the RINOs and order the DOD to send the military to secure our southern border and turn back the approaching invaders, hes FINISHED as far as Im concerned, and I for one will NEVER support him again.
>>Once in they will never leave and millions more will be on their way.<<
That, in my view, is very probable, which is why I think the critics of those who are warning of the adverse consequences for Trump and the country are sadly mistaken.
