I grew up in a Christian home, where a photo of Jesus hung on my bedroom wall. I still have it. It is schmaltzy and rather tacky in that 1970s kind of way, but as a little girl I loved it. In this picture, Jesus looks kind and gentle, he gazes down at me lovingly. He is also light-haired, blue-eyed, and very white. The problem is, Jesus was not white.

Such a definitive statement could only surely be made by the voice of personal experience, and they would know white as they long ago turned to dust.

I am not sure what the problem is here. Jesus has been taken into every culture and racial category and made their own.
Black Jesus, Asian Jesus, White Jesus, Hispanic Jesus.
Jesus is God who transcends race and culture.
I am always amazed at the inability to conceptualize paradox that occurs on the Left.
I know he wasn’t light skinned like the people you hate and call “White.” You say: “The problem is, Jesus was not white.” Why is that a problem? Is it because you loathe White people and want us to feel bad because we have pictures of Jesus with light skin although he was dark-skinned? You talk about “European bias” and “diverse role models.”
Be aware, a$$hole, that I don’t share your obsession with shades of skin color, and that I don’t think Whites are evil and darks saints.

I’ve never heard anyone make the claim that Jesus was an albino.
It does when you look at the cloth laying flat. But some scientists treated the image like an electronic flat file and used a 3D printer to convert the image. The picture that the computer generated was that of a perfectly average Jewish face. If he pumped gas next to you at the gas station, you would not notice him.
Christianity is a unique religion, each member has their own encounter with the Messiah. If he is characterized as black, brown or white, I see it as the artists interpretation of their experience with Jesus. When we see him in person, he will like his father, God.

Actually being southern mediterranean that places him squarely in the Phoenician/Egyptian areas... Those people were white with light skin and blue or green eyes... they also carried the gene for red hair... Princess Scotia was given the land named Scotland... she was Phoenician...
