Scholars argue eating meat contributes to toxic masculinity, but one sociologist has come to a different conclusion: giving up meat promotes white masculinity.

I am an omnivore, and I’m ready to rumble!
Vegetables are what food eats.
How can they talk about “masculinity”? Male is only one of an infinite spectrum of genders that are assigned at birth, and that are changeable as often as one changes one’s socks. Gotta change that to “androgininity,” “cisgenderininity,” “neutroisininity,” or “transgenderininity.”
It seems that white masculinity is so overwhelmingly powerful that nearly everything promotes it. Maybe progressives need to take a lesson from this. :)
I'll be so toxic I'll be able file as a superfund site.
You are way off the mark on this one. I made the switch to vegan over 10 years ago and it has literally been the best decision Ive ever made for myself. And I am not exaggerating. Nothing I have ever done for myself in my life previously even compares to the positive benefits I have felt from this.
Probably not.
Hindus may or may not be vegetarians but they are not usually vegans.
Hindus eat milk and honey where vegans will not.
A vegan usually is of European extraction as few other people have the desire to follow such a strange and unnatural diet.
So ignorant. Do the words heart disease, cancer and multiple meds go along with "masculinity" in your book?
LOL, see Post #5.
So much ignorance about such a natural , healthy way of eating. I recommend books by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Dr. Garth Davis, Dr. Michael Gregor, Dr. Joel Furmahn. And those are just for starters.
And yes, I used my white male logic to arrive at the decision that this was the proper lifestyle choice for myself.
Hahahaaaaaa, wait, this isnt from the onion?
There is no protein deficiency in veganism or a "plant based" diet (rolling eyes). Read "Proteinaholic" by Dr. Garth Davis for more info on that.
An natural or healthy diet does not require heavily processed food or supplements.
But since it is a free country anyone who wants to join a dopey cult is free to do so.
There is no one best diet. A non vegan diet doesn't mean a man gets those things.
The research shows that it does. I recommend some of the authors I reference in post #50
I shall confess to feeling a bit toxically masculine the last few days. Guess I’ll char up a steak tonight, crack a brewski, and revel in my femininity. It’s for a more just society.
or a White Sheep
I think I detect a failed attempt at a doctoral thesis paper.
I can see by the photo in the article that the bearded vegan with the flannel shirt (that’s called the lumberjack look around here, practiced by millennials who want to appear masculine) is macho to the max.
Pass the carrots and the soy please.
