We’re still not sure if it was a glitch, an “oops” or an intentional snub, but it looks like Easter Sunday has disappeared from Apple’s iPhone calendars under the company's latest software update.
Fox News reports some iPhone users have complained that Easter Sunday, which falls on April 1 this year and is the most important holiday in Christianity, has been erased from Apple’s calendar under its latest iOS version 11.2.5.

Oh, so now you’re backtracking and agreeing the news on Fox wasn’t wrong and that Apple indeed removed Easter and Good Friday from their list of US holidays and are now moving the goalpost by saying people should add it in manually if they care that much about a stupid holiday?
Just did the update. Easter’s still there.
Mine was a gift and I use it purely for entertainment. If I ask to any type of music, she does until I tell her to stop. There are games on there as well, we are currently hooked on the “escape the room”. An escape room where you have to listen and use your imagination. I have not gotten any of the light fixture things or the thermostat interface. I use the shopping list feature that creates a shopping list on my phone - pretty cool feature. I can say “Alexa, add toothpaste to my shopping list” while cooking dinner and it is done. A learning moment happened when my daughter was supposed to put Frosted Flakes on the shopping list, but she said buy Frosted Flakes. We had to run into the office and cancel the order on Amazon. She was shocked at how expensive cereal is these days. All in all, we are happy with it, but do make fun of NSA listening.

The holiday was called “Indigenous Peoples day”. No country was mentioned in the name. I would imagine Koreans were indigenous to Korea and would celebrate it thusly while using their iPhone.

Heh - even in jest you touched on one of my pet peeves. The only people who could lay claim to being “indigenous people” would have been Adam & Eve!

What’s odd is there’s been no comment from Apple on this - it’s been in the news for a few days from what I can tell. You’d think they’d want to get out in front of an issue that many seem to be experiencing - moreso in that it touches on religious sensibilities.
Yes, I wouldn’t have such devices due to privacy issues.
But I’m still curious as to the what the selling point is for people who do get such devices. Setting aside the whole privacy issue entirely, why do they get them?

It’s been an ‘issue’ since 2012. I posted evidence above.
This isn’t an actual issue.
But it’s kinda fun to think of, after God delivers His directions and warnings, that Adam dismisses the Almighty’s orders saying, “I’m from Missouri”.

The question of when they purged the Christian holy days is not as important as is the why of their dumping. Going by the the talk of users on the Apple forum and Twitter, it sure seems to be an issue to them.
My guess is that eventually Apple will have to address the problem before too long - if it’s PR people are worth their salt.
I said nothing of the kind. Apple is simply one of the most egregious of the liberal leaning tech companies. Apparently you feel otherwise? Whether you do or don't is a matter of personal choice. Enjoy your life.
Yeah, unsubscribe to the ‘US Holidays’ you have now and (re)subscribe to the one I linked.
To do this on iCal on the Mac, click that Calendars button on the top left of the window. Right click on the current “US Holidays” in the list that appears below and select delete. To resubscribe to the correct one, it’s under the File menu, “New Calendar Subscription” and enter either one of the URLs I provided above.
To correct this on Calendars on an iDevice: Go to your monthly view, tap Calendars at the bottom. Scroll to your existing “US Holidays” and tap the “circled i” icon to the right of that and scroll down to the bottom to tap Delete Calendar. To resubscribe to the correct US Holidays calendar:
Tap Settings then Accounts & Passwords. Tap Add Account. Tap Other. Tap Add Subscribed Calendar (near the bottom of the screen). Type in the server address for the calendar on the Subscription screen - ical.mac.com/ical/US32Holidays.ics (This is the address I gave above.) Tap Next. The iDevice will sit and ‘verify’ for a bit. It will say that it can’t connect using SSL, tap continue. Then tap next or back (forget which) and when it’s done go back to Calendar. The calendar now appears on the calendar list in the Calendar app.
