Like I assume many of you, I've spend much of the past year boiling with anger towards Jeff Sessions. He first got caught like a deer in the headlights with respect to the biggest issue facing the Trump Presidency, somehow not managing to remember critical events. Then he recuses himself from the Russia investigation, leaving Trump to the wolves, i.e. Obama Deep State holdovers infesting the Department of Justice, intent on destroying his Presidency. As a literal soft coup attempt against a sitting President seems to be progressing in plain view underneath his command, he seems completely asleep at the wheel. And to top it all off, the one topic that has seemed to wake Sessions from his stupor, cracking down on legal marijuana, seems politically suicidal and anti-liberty, not to mention a complete waste of time and money.
But . . . I've come to rethink my view. Starting from the bottom, OK, I disagree on marijuana, but allowing states to defy federal law on marijuana undercuts the case to crack down on them defying federal law on immigration, which to me is a far more important issue. Yes, Sessions seems quiet in terms of cracking down on the Obama loyalists at the DOJ, but then, this is not something that can be done in a way that seems in the least way political. We don't need a grandstanding press whore like James Comey, we need someone to quietly take action and build the case. With the string of departures at DOJ/FBI, I'm starting to have faith that behind the scenes he is doing this. Recusing himself then, seems like less of a profile in cowardice and more of a shrewd move to place himself and his actions above reproach, even as he goes about pursuing his prey. If all of the above is true, the failure to remember critical events just becomes a pretext to get himself out of the spotlight on the issue.
I don't know for sure whether the reality is the former or the latter, or something in between, but as time passes, I'm becoming more and more convinced it's the latter.
Jeff Sessions was a spectacularly poor choice for AG. A mistake Trump needs to correct.
Who would you like to see as a replacement for Sessions? All of the names I’ve seen suggested around here (Giuliani, Christie) would be far worse.
I agree. My first choice is Larry Klayman.

Note the operative two words: "You're FIRED!"...
Not this ignorant, defeatist Schiff again!!
For your enlightenment, I refer you to the link in my #65...
In simple terms: His cover would have surely been blown long before today.
Sessions is simply inept and "in over his head."
your actually baseless speculation is wrong
Keep hoping for the best.. but prepare yourself for the worst.
Sessions is INEFFECTIVE and nothing will change that.
11 months ago trump/sessions could have used comedy’s report and finding that hillary was “excessively carless” with classifeid information. Being excessively careless is not mitigation for what she did. That alone should have indicted her. They could have sought prison time and counted investigation uranium, foundation, malfeasance (mis managing 6 billion at state) , and play for pay.
If there is an investigation of these things then amazingly nothing has leaked or been in the media, a first in DC. That’s why we can be assured Sessions has done nothing and Trump condones it.
Two weeks ago it was announced some IG investigations, so we will see how that turns out, but sessions has turned the DOJ from a criminal political shill to a sleeping bear.
You Sessions basher are clueless as to the width and depth of corruption in all parts of government... Legislative (Debbie's Paki spies and their ‘blackberries’) Judicial branch and their anti-Constitutional judgments, all across this land, and every agency in the Executive Branch.
Haste makes waste...
that was the next step. Take your meds, we’re on the same team.
Thanks
Instead what we have are hot house lilies throwing a fit because no indictments have been made public.
In fact, his body of knowledge of the vast amount of skulduggery going on, both domestic and foreign, was why he knew he must become president in the first place.
go back to your own nightmare. I’ll wake you when sessions comes out of his coma.
I may just take the time to remind you of your huffing and puffing... someday.
Can’t make my mind up on Rod R. As in whether he’s genuinely trying to save his own skin or if he’s playing his assigned role well.
You get it. Yet the anti Sessions rabble will still howl.
“You are going to remember being pretty silly.”
I hope so.
But if neither Hillary, Lois, Loretta, Comey or any of the FBI DOJ hacks are indicted, I’m going to look pretty smart.
And then what will YOU say?
