House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence Chairman Devin Nunes issued the following statement today:
Having stonewalled Congress demands for information for nearly a year, its no surprise to see the FBI and DOJ issue spurious objections to allowing the American people to see information related to surveillance abuses at these agencies. The FBI is intimately familiar with material omissions with respect to their presentations to both Congress and the courts, and they are welcome to make public, to the greatest extent possible, all the information they have on these abuses. Regardless, its clear that top officials used unverified information in a court document to fuel a counter-intelligence investigation during an American political campaign. Once the truth gets out, we can begin taking steps to ensure our intelligence agencies and courts are never misused like this again.
1. The Nunes memo deliberately omitted certain information in the interest of national security.
2. This "FBI statement" claims the memo should not be made public because it has material omissions of fact.
The "material omissions of fact" in #2 are the omissions described in #1.
Nunes knows this, and he knows that the FBI knows it. So rather than run the risk of including something in his memo that would be a breach of national security, he's inviting the FBI to go ahead and do it themselves.
That’s right, Baby. We don’t care about your spurious objections!
This memo releases or it is a declaration of DC lawlessness. The FBI,DOJ are not entities above the law.
We The People, demand the memo release. We do not care what DCians says about it. USA is _not_ DC, DC is a land unto itself.
Nan says Dev be a Trump stooge.
Sure hope this guy is watching his back
and his family too
He is challenging the vanguard of the forces of evil
...Its clear as a bell ; FBI and DoJ did not operate by themselves . They were acting under direct orders from Barack Obama...
Zer0, the usurper, needs to be perp walked with the rest of the traitors.
Two or three more guys like Nunes and we can really get our country back. So far he is the real deal.
Trump needs to release the memo now, everyone is stepping over the story and creating false narratives. Also, a Friday release gets buried in weekend coverage and Superbowl.
He had time to bask in the glory of his great speech, now go for the kill.
The burn it hurts.
Pretty good comebacker from Nunes.
Enough statements!!
RTFM!!!
(techies will understand that reference)
Naw, he’s just responding as if it was to counter the public perception that it is.
It would do no good to question the FBI response memo.
Nunes isnt taking any shit from the criminals at the FBI and DoJ.
Bump
Sorry. Know its been overused. But BOOM!
Brilliant analysis on your part and smart move by Nunes.
Rush made that exact same point a few days ago.
So, what are we waiting for, Christmas?
“I wonder if the memo contained information damaging to the Republicans or the Trump Administration, would the same circumstance be true? “
I’m wondering if the FBI’s response to this was based on a setup to see if information would be leaked to the FBI. Isn’t is odd that just yesterday the FBI validated that there was no inaccuracies to the document.
