Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

I’m a contributor, but I am a realist. This may be one of the closest Southern Senate races in a long time.
Current numbers on Drudge:
JONES 49%
MOORE 50%
I hope Moore wins, but OAN sounds kinda crazy. OAN is not available in most areas in the US, btw...
I’m going to blame Sessions if we lose this seat. He should have never taken the AG job knowing he would likely recuse himself on the biggest issues facing the administration.
I know! Its a done deal at OAN.
Moore +6,900 (.7%) with 81% in
Again Non-contributor. What, don’t have 10$ to spare?
Mo Brooks was supported by people like Laura Ingraham, and he was a Trump like conservative without the controversy. He would have won. That said, I never really got all the hate against Strange. He never did a thing in office to inspire that hate except take McConnell’s help. He’s voted for everything Trump needed.
I said at the time when the allegations came out that the polls looked bad. I was attacked and called a troll. I said it would be better to win and keep the seat with Strange than lose with Jones. People went after me. If Jones loses, I was correct.
Oh silly poster. It won’t matter how strong the candidate. This is the strategy now. Like or or not.
COUNTED SO FAR: 85% ROY MOORE 510,308 49.4% DOUG JONES 506,451 49.0%
Our big problem is progressive corportist Republicans prefer Democrats to us. And they have the purse strings and media access.
I can’t believe it either. It’s sickening.
Since this is a special election, will this seat be up again in 2018?
True. So far he has been useless.
Bellwether county. It went Jones.
Look for network calls for Jones shortly.
Moore is toast
sucks
I like Moore as a man but he was a lousy candidate. Still think he could win.
