Alabama votes on Tuesday in a special election to fill the Senate seat vacated by Jeff Sessions, now the attorney general. The last polls close at 8 p.m. Eastern. Strong support for Roy S. Moore, the Republican, is expected in rural, mostly white parts of the state and in its northern half. The Democrat, Doug Jones, aims to create a lead in the urban counties that include Birmingham and Montgomery, and across a band of largely black counties.
One critical battleground is a trio of smaller, whiter cities: Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville. Mr. Moore won a hard race in 2012 by keeping things close there. Mr. Jones hopes to win the cities by a convincing margin.

Oh they will be. Poor candidate.
Should have gone with Big Luther!!
Alabama losing to a democrat in a December election. Nice!
Moore +26,400 (3%) with 77% in
Truth hurts doesnt it scumbag....lol
Better a “scumbag” than a pathetic surrender monkey conservative like you. Limp wristed towel boys like you are the reason conservatism hasn’t advanced since Reagan.
Agreed.
Well, I would be delighted to be wrong.
I fear our Republic is lost. We MAGA are determined but some are easily fooled by all the negative news.
Doug Jones will be a one-time senator, maybe. A Republican in 2020 could beat Jones, but not a toxic candidate like Moore with all these allegations.
The REAL numbers from the Alabama SoS say that only 326,000 votes have actually been counted, and Moore has 17.5% lead.
Madison is more on the dem side as counties go. Infested with dumb ass transplants from all over. I think talladega is the odd one. Very telling.
Automatic recount in alabama if less than 0.5%. Margin of victory.
True. The GOPe nuked Mo Brooks in the primary - he would have made an outstanding senator.
100K votes left, Jones needs 70K to win ... not gonna happen ..
You are not wrong. If the numbers are correct Jefferson County will give Jones as much as 60K in votes more than Moore. Looks like Jones wins easy by 40Kplus
Baldwin (RED) just starting to come in
It’s weird that hasn’t happened in every election. There was so much smoke with this one that even the village idiot knew there was fire.
Moore should have stepped aside early on.
He didn’t. The rest is history.
they are basing it on the NYT drudge link. lazy reporters.
We have Jeff Sessions to thank for this and for that and for just about every mess that’s been created for the Administration and its policies. What a mess that loser has created.
1.6%
How come no one is talking about the GOP areas that are still out? There are 13 red dots, including a big one in Baldwin County, on the NY Times map that are not yet fully counted.
