An explosion has reportedly gone off at New York's main bus station - with terrified tourists seen "stampeding" from the scene.
A bomb squad has been dispatched to Manhattan's Port Authority Bus Terminal following the reported blast, witnesses claim.
Taking to Twitter this morning, one woman wrote: "Just was stuck in a running stampede at port authority bus terminal due to bomb scare."
She added: "Cops EVERYWHERE."
The reports are currently unconfirmed.

LOL, I had a cussing meltdown...it was a good thing it was so noisy nobody could even hear me.
There were six of us, nobody had ever ridden the subway there. We had no clue as to what the fare for one person was, and looking at all the signage in the area, it was not evident. Was it $3.00? $5.50? Couldn’t tell.
We were only using it for one ride each...we had walked about seven miles, and couldn’t bring ourselves to walk back.
So I bought a card, put about $25 on it, and I swiped it as each person when through, I would be the last.
After three went through (including my wife) the card stopped working and gave an error (saying “transfers exceeded”) I figured out later what that was, but at the time, I had no idea, none of us did. I thought I might not have enough money on it, so I put more, but it still didn’t work.
Then I got the bright idea to call the MTA to find out what was wrong with it, since there are no humans at the station you can talk to.
So I call the number posted on a sign, and...by default, it is voice activated. My blood began to boil.
Without any input from me, the phone began saying “I’m sorry, that is not an option. Please choose again...pause...I’m sorry, that is not an option. Please choose again...pause...I’m sorry, that is not an option. Please choose again...”
I work with speech recognition, so...what is the hardest thing to overcome in speech recognition? Ambient noise. Where is the noisiest public place known to man. The Subway. So...let’s make speech recognition the default choice...
I was cussing up a blue streak, and everyone was looking at me with wide eyes even though they couldn’t hear me, knew quite well the gist of what I was saying!
We ended up buying ANOTHER ticket and putting enough money for the three of us, and we got onto the crowded, smelly subway.

It’s an internal NYPD procedure. A Level 3 basically means that officers from other boroughs travel into Manhattan to assist with the investigation. Which at this point mostly means traffic and crime scene control.
He’s probably been on a watch list for some time, but you know how that goes...it seems that virtually all of our jihadis, as well as those in France and the UK, are already known to the authorities. But nobody does anything to them until too late, and in the UK they aren’t even deported.
AM710 saying no ‘stampede’, but people avoiding the smoke and guy on the ground, from cctv footage they’re looking at. Guy on ground was the bad guy that boomed hiself.
