Hilarious story, especially the part about speech recognition :-) I use Dragon all the time, so I can relate
I try to control my bad language, because I agree that more than an occasional outburst is generally indicative of less than desirable personality and intellect traits. I used to be a sailor, and freely engaged for many years after.
It was kind of funny in that respect, because it was as if I was in a soundproofed chamber (so nobody could really hear what I was saying, but they could see my mouth moving and the expressions on my face) and I could see them looking at me with wide eyes and their mouths in an “O” shape...
I was in the process of saying extremely derogatory things about the system, the ticket, the phone, the MTA, New Yorkers, and New York in general...all compressed into perhaps 15 seconds, which as you can guess, isn’t a long amount of time to compress all that profanity into, but I did some “fine and fancy cussing” to achieve that...
