One of the women accusing Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore of assaulting her as a teenager said on Friday she added the date and venue to an inscription from Moore in her high school yearbook, prompting attacks on her credibility and the competence of her lawyer, Gloria Allred. Many conservatives accused the attorney of mishandling the situation and claimed she'd essentially handed victory to Moore just four days before the election.
Beverly Young Nelson told ABC News she amended an inscription from Moore in her high school yearbook, adding the date and location. Nelson maintained the rest of the note was written by Moore, though he and his lawyers have repeatedly stated he did not sign the yearbook. The inscription states: "To a sweeter more beautiful girl I could not say Merry Christmas. Christmas 1977. Love, Roy Moore, DA. 12-22-77 Olde Hickory House."
In November, Nelson claimed Moore attempted to force her to perform a sex act when she was a teenager in the 1970s and he was the deputy district attorney of Etowah County and in his 30s. She offered the yearbook inscription as evidence to bolster her accusation. At the time, Nelson and her lawyer, Allred, said the inscription was written by Moore and did not mention that Nelson had added the date and location. But Nelson's acknowledgement she wrote part of the note somewhat contradicts that. Some have since claimed Nelson admitted she "forged" the inscription, but this is not the case.
Allred held a press conference on Friday and brought a report from forensic document expert that said the note and signature were written by Moore and said the date and location were written by Nelson to "remind herself who Roy Moore was." It was not clear from her comments when Nelson made those additions.

I used the article because it had a pic of the signature, and it was clear to view! I have no idea about Olde Hickory House, and no matter if it existed, it should have been better known if worthwhile, as very few people remember it. The idea it was next or part of a motel means it was low key/not used as much or food wasn’t that great...people would remember!
I lived in PA and there was a restaurant called R & S on Rt 309, and anyone who has been there remembers it! It was a diner, plain and simple. Same time frame in 1970s, and sadly gone, when I went back to visit I was sad to see that!
If Roy Moore would have ate at Olde Hickory regularly, as she claimed, it would be a significant restaurant for the food, etc....not something easily forgotten!
Thanks for link, I checked it out!
I don’t think Mitch has much say in an Ethics Committee meeting. The committee is independent, at least on paper.
Your response lacks clarity. This was court based and only a few years ago. The why and where does not matter.
(......no matter the outcome of the election.....)

I was in my car most of earlier part of the day.
Heard the Sunday talk shows——Meet the Depressed etc.
They never mention Gloria Allred or the yearbook.
Just said on each show: How could the voters of Alabama vote for Roy Moore who had a record of molesting 14 year olds?
One show consisted of reporters from the NY TIMES, Politico, Bloomberg and NBC.
They all presented the record of molesting children as a given fact. They also mentioned Trump a lot—that he was backing a child molester even though many of his advisers told him not to.
The rest of the time was spent saying that the muslims were enraged, angered and very upset and protesting Trump’s moving of the US Embassy to Jerusalem and that the nice muslims were being shot with rubber bullets because they were objectinng to Trump’s dastardly deed..
Gloria Allred motivated me to send Roy’s campaign $100.00 when she first produced what was an obviously forged yearbook....and I live in North Carolina
Good for you.
And I wonder how many others?
Based where?
I get the feeling he was already on a path to winning. But lying from the other side most likely didn’t help enough. I get the feeling a lot of people consider the Allred accusations to be lies anyways.
I heard MLK Jr. was having jolly time with hookers shortly before he got offed.
