ABC News president excoriates staff over Brian Ross' Michael Flynn error
CNN Media ^ | December 4,2017 | Oliver Darcy and Brian Stelter

ABC News president James Goldston excoriated staff Monday over Brian Ross' major error on a report about former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, and announced that Ross, the network's chief investigative reporter, will no longer cover stories related to President Trump.

Goldston also told staffers that the network was conducting a "full review" of the error and its aftermath.

Ross had initially reported Friday morning that Flynn was prepared to testify that Donald Trump as a candidate had instructed him to reach out to the Russians. Ross said more than seven hours later on "World News Tonight" that his information was actually that Flynn was prepared to testify Trump made the request as president-elect. On Saturday evening, ABC News said Ross had been suspended for four weeks without pay for what it termed the "serious error."

During ABC News' morning editorial call Monday, audio of which was obtained by CNN, Goldston excoriated his staff for the error.

"I don't think ever in my career have I felt more rage and disappointment and frustration that I felt through this weekend and through the last half of Friday," Goldston said.

"I don't even know how many times we've talked about this, how many times we have talked about the need to get it right," he added. "That how we have to be right and not first. About how in this particular moment, with the stakes as high as these stakes are right now, we cannot afford to get it wrong."

I dont recall Democraps being upset with Ted Kennedy communicating with the Russians to defeat Reagan in 1984.

Good point. But the reaching out would have to be part of a criminal conspiracy to be illegal. “Give us the results of your bugging” would be criminal. But “tell us what Hillary asked you to do for her” would not.

Sure, I believe that.

Ha ha ha ha ha.

ABC 'News' currently employs George Stephanopoulos, that impeccably unbiased and trustworthy paragon of truth and honesty.

ABC 'News' is a sick joke, whether or not they're pushing fake news.

This all seems weird to me. The suspension seems like an over-reaction for a detail that isn’t really that important. If Flynn talked to Russian counter parts when Trump was a candidate as opposed to when Trump was the President-Elect seems to not matter much....except to those in a fantasy bubble where anybody who was associated with Trump in some way talking to any Russian for any reason proves that Big Foot and the Lizard people from the 18th dimension used mind control rays to hack the election so Trump could destroy the Earth using Carbon Dioxide poisoning in order to serve his ego, harass more women of color, betray the human race to evil Space alien overlords, and to blame it all on innocent Muslim children from Mexico who are dreaming of becoming American citizens.

By suspending Ross on Saturday, ABC basically was admitting culpability.

By suspending Ross from ever covering any reporting related to President Trump, Goldston is further admitting ABC News culpability.

ABC accounting department has been busy trying to determine how much the potential litigation is going to cost ABC. ABC legal department has been busy trying to determine how many staff and lawyers it will take to respond to the potential litigation they will likely face.

Those who suffered losses in the Stock Market are likely consulting their attorneys.

Scotty Goldberg of ABC Radio News headlined his report on Trump’s video tweet of Moslem outrages—which Trump received from the British organization Britain First—by claiming Trump had received support for his tweets from a well known American. Who was this well known American? David Duke.

ABC goes out of their way to associate President Trump with David Duke. David Duke is not an important or well known American.

Scott Goldberg uses his perch as afternoon ABC radio news announcer to viciously attack the president under the pretext that he is giving us objective and nonpartisan news.

BS. More Fake News.

Brian Ross ABC
Dan Rather CBS
Brian Williams NBC

Seems to me that the 3 largest networks share something in common. They lie and they hate conservatives.

“That how we have to be right and not first.”

Tough to do when your “Journo-list’rs” are on other people’s payrolls, like Brock/Podesta MediaMatters, or FusionGPS, or the Clinton Foundation.

The Little Black Book of Billionaire Secrets
Ted Kennedy’s Soviet Gambit

Picking his way through the Soviet archives that Boris Yeltsin had just thrown open, in 1991 Tim Sebastian, a reporter for the London Times, came across an arresting memorandum. Composed in 1983 by Victor Chebrikov, the top man at the KGB, the memorandum was addressed to Yuri Andropov, the top man in the entire USSR. The subject: Sen. Edward Kennedy.

“On 9-10 May of this year,” the May 14 memorandum explained, “Sen. Edward Kennedy’s close friend and trusted confidant [John] Tunney was in Moscow.” (Tunney was Kennedy’s law school roommate and a former Democratic senator from California.) “The senator charged Tunney to convey the following message, through confidential contacts, to the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, Y. Andropov.”

Kennedy’s message was simple. He proposed an unabashed quid pro quo. Kennedy would lend Andropov a hand in dealing with President Reagan. In return, the Soviet leader would lend the Democratic Party a hand in challenging Reagan in the 1984 presidential election. “The only real potential threats to Reagan are problems of war and peace and Soviet-American relations,” the memorandum stated. “These issues, according to the senator, will without a doubt become the most important of the election campaign.”

Kennedy made Andropov a couple of specific offers.

First he offered to visit Moscow. “The main purpose of the meeting, according to the senator, would be to arm Soviet officials with explanations regarding problems of nuclear disarmament so they may be better prepared and more convincing during appearances in the USA.” Kennedy would help the Soviets deal with Reagan by telling them how to brush up their propaganda.

Then he offered to make it possible for Andropov to sit down for a few interviews on American television. “A direct appeal ... to the American people will, without a doubt, attract a great deal of attention and interest in the country. ... If the proposal is recognized as worthy, then Kennedy and his friends will bring about suitable steps to have representatives of the largest television companies in the USA contact Y.V. Andropov for an invitation to Moscow for the interviews. ... The senator underlined the importance that this initiative should be seen as coming from the American side.”

Kennedy would make certain the networks gave Andropov air time—and that they rigged the arrangement to look like honest journalism...
