MSNBC host Joy Reid thinks that rural Americans are “the core threat to our democracy” and pointed to a series of tweets by liberal author Jared Yates Sexton that claimed Trump supporters “do not believe in the Constitution or any founding principles unless they're advantageous” as proof of her far-left theory.
“By 2040, about 70% of Americans are expected to live in the 15 largest states. They will have only 30 senators representing them, while the remaining 30% of Americans will have 70 senators representing them,” MSNBC producer Kyle Griffin tweeted over the weekend.
Reid, who tweets so often that it’s amazing she finds time to do anything else, has a feed that is essentially the anti-Trump talking points of the far left on a daily basis. While Sexton never specifically mentioned the “rural minority” in his rant, the MSNBC host took it upon herself to quote Griffin’s tweet add her own commentary tied to Sexton's thread.
“This is the core threat to our democracy. The rural minority -- the people @JYSexton just wrote a long thread about -- have and will continue to have disproportionate power over the urban majority,” Reid tweeted.

Are there people who are so into being trashed as a citizen, that they don’t mind this person doing it?
Have these people no honor, no serf-worth, no family members who they love enough not to want to see them denigrated or put down?

What’s her beef?
First of all, we are not a democracy. We are a constitutional republic.
Secondly, our constitution provides that each state shall have two senators. Population is not considered with regard to Senate representation.
Does she not know this, or disregards because it is an inconvenient truth which doesn’t tie in with her talking points?
She makes a solid point.

If the cities can automatically overrule the other 90% of the country - whose issues are very different from urbanites - then all that is left is the shooting.

But those 15 states having 30 senators and 70% of the population will have a massive number of House representatives.
Thus, we see another example of the wisdom of the Founding Fathers.
That's why the Founding Fathers also added the House of Representatives to the elected government.

My response: FU urban dweller.
Never listened to her and never will but I'm sure she wants the Electoral College abolished. That'll be the new priority for the Coastal elites in coming months: all national elections to be decided by New York, Los Angeles and other Blue State big cities.
