The popular Keurig single cup coffee machine maker is facing a boycott by outraged fans of conservative talk radio and TV icon Sean Hannity after the company caved to pressure from Democratic Party front group Media Matters for America after the group smeared Hannity over his comments about Alabama Republican U.S. Senate nominee Roy Moore and accusations reported by the Washington Post that Moore preyed on teenage girls when he was in his early thirties.
Earlier on Saturday, Keurig tweeted to MMFA President Angelo Carusone the company would stop advertising on Hannitys Fox News Channel TV show after Carusone smeared Hannity as a defender of child molesters. Carusone and Media Matters have been waging a war on Hannity, trying to drive him off the air by targeting his advertisers. (Keurig should take note that the USAA insurance and financial company reversed a decision earlier this year to stop advertising on Hannity after a rebellion by its military-based customers and shareholders.)
Good afternoon @Keurig. You are currently sponsoring Sean Hannitys show. He defends child molester Roy Moore and attacks women who speak out against sexual harassment. Please reconsider.
Angelo, thank you for your concern and for bringing this to our attention. We worked with our media partner and FOX news to stop our ad from airing during the Sean Hannity Show....

The point was Hannity did Moore no favor.
I prefer the Bunn over the Keurig, but it turns out the Green mountain owns Keurig and makes the K-cups. Disappointing. That said, we have been in a social civil war for a very long time. Want to make a real difference? Pull your children our of government schools. Anything less is simply delaying the inevitable.
I think all you folks are a little odd with your high tech coffee makers.
I just use my 40 year old stainless steel PERCOLATOR.
Makes great coffee in about 15 minutes and holds 24 cups.
Doesn’t require any electricity.
Can use it in the field.
It works with any fuel, electricity, gas, wood, or cow chips.
That 24 cups is generally gone before noon, I like my lifer juice.
“I saw the Hannity piece. Hannity never defended Moore. Hannity just wanted the facts.”
Agree. If anything, Hannity’s questions were probing, and bordered on to adversarial. Whomever is saying he is defending Moore is just stirring up trouble; that never happened the way I heard it.
“She and her friends are furious over what she sees as a dirty, democrat/establishment (Mitch McConnell) political trick.”
Same thing from all the ladies in our (Tennessee) Sunday School class today. They’re livid about what’s going on to try to take down Moore — especially the current hobby of women accusing every man they ever knew (or possibly didn’t know) of sexual assault. Nobody believes that crap.
Got it. Keurig has partnered with a coffee company. Boycott Green Mountain!
I like boycotts where you dont buy their product. Boycotting to force them to advertise seems not reasonable.
The coffee never tastes like the flavor it touts,
is so weak as to be homeopathic, and needs to be
boycotted for being such a horrid product.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters bought Keurig in 2006. They boomed - stocks split 2 and 3 ways several times. Foolishly, GMCR brought on Brian Kelley in about 2012. Under the guidance of ex-Coke big-wig Brian Kelley, they tried to establish themselves as an “innovation” company, and rebranded themselves Keurig Green Mountain. Kelley shouldn’t run a garage sale, and the innovations that he supported flopped (Keurig Kold, VUE, etc) Stocks plummeted, after an initial boost by Coke (thought they could compete with Sodastream). Eventually Kelley steered a deal with JAB Holding, which now owns the company, and has rebranded as Green Mountain Coffee.
Not mine.
We use the Cuisinart grind and perk coffee machines with the steel carafe.
Dearr Cinnamontex,
I do make A cup of coffee, using those elements.
I do not have an electric coffeemaker.
I use the Pyrex measuring cup to hold the water as I heat it in the microwave, and sometimes, when I am making A bowl of oatmeal, I might use the tea kettle for both water needs.
I refer to the measurement chart for the amount of coffee to be placed in a perculator pot as my single cup through paper filter amount. (None ‘for the pot’, though.)
I use the reusable stainless steel K-Cup compatible filters.
Not because I particularly care about the environment, but because I’m a Dutch Protestant cheapsake.
A pound of coffee cost $6-$9 depending on you taste. The pound equivalent in K-cups is about $46-$58. It’s eight times the cost or more.
What an utter shame.
I purchased my Keurig machine three years ago and I love it. Now they have to go and ruin the brand. I will continue to use my Keurig until it stops working and then find an alternative. I will, however, immediately boycott these specific Keurig owned brands listed hereunder and I will reduce my daily consumption from three cups to just two cups a day.

I use a Hamilton Beach maker that can use k-cups or a basket filled with ground folgers Columbian for less than half the price.
Dropped the idea when I found they typically last 18 months.
The last coffee pot I bought was a grind and brew Cuisinart that has lasted over fifteen years. It still wakes me up to the sound of beans being ground and by the time I have fed the cat I have coffee.
If I want "A" cup I just use my Aeropress.
It is not the expense that makes something over priced but the quality of the item.
I can make the equivalent of an six cup pot with it when we are traveling.
My husband does not drink coffee so, with my electric pot I can make water for my coffee and water for his tea.
It is, IMHO, almost as easy as instant and tastes much better.
+1
I have one in my house and effective immediately, it’ll no longer be used. I will pick up a press, I wanted to try black rifle coffee anyways.
I’ll be sure to let them know too.
