I hear a lot of talk about staying home instead of voting for the Establishment RINO candidate Ed Gillespie in Virginia. The reason that is often times given for staying home is that there is no difference between the two, so why vote at all. So they use the same reasoning that was used in 1992 when many Republicans refused to the pull the lever that would have re-elected George H Bush.
Oh I remember those days well, because I was trying to convince people to not vote for the hand-grenade with a bad haircut. Many die hard conservatives at the time just repeated the same line, over, and over, again. George lied, when he said read my lips. He screwed us, and we are tired of politicians taking us for granted. Many even said that maybe a couple years with a Democrat president people will remember why we voted for Reagan instead of Bush in the 1980 Primary. In four years we can then pick a conservative and replace the guy as they did when Carter was President.
Well we sure did learn our lesson didn't we? Yup, but the only problem is you never know what a person will do while they have the power you want to deny the RINO.
Need I really go through the list of pains we have had to endure because some people would rather see a city, state, or the country feel your anger? Looking back at the election of 1992, I can think of many things that would be different if people just held their nose and voted for Bush. Like the Twin Towers would still be standing, China would still be firing rockets into the dirt, would still have control of all our uranium, and many of my friends would still have sons and daughters living. There are many more, but those should suffice.
Yea, imagine if we took that spirit and fought like our future depended on it to get the right candidate elected in the primary instead of bitching that our candidate lost, so we'll jut stay home and let the Democrat win.
Mind you, there are numerous reasons you should never ever allow a Democrat Politician any where near a position of power. Especially if your vote can make the difference between who will have the authority to appoint the person who will become a US Senator when Senator Bob Menendez is convicted. Mind you, this Senator will have a vote on who Donald Trump appoints to the Supreme Court should there be an opening.
Look, no one knows what the future my bring, but I do know that if GH Bush won in 1992, Bill Clinton would probably be living in Arkansas with an ex-wife making his life a living hell as she complains about her alimony checks, instead of screwing up the country. Imagine if Bill and Hillary never would have made it to the white House. See, it does matter who wins between a RINO and a Democrat.
Yep.
Could you please edit the title by replacing the “@” sign with the number “2”, because I failed to realize my cap was locked.
It should be,
“2 Reasons To Always Vote Republican In General Elections, Even If It’s 4 A RINO”
That staying home nonsense cost us the House and Senate in 2006 and 2008 and gave us bammy.
I’ll stay home. I make no apologies. In a primary, I vote for the most Conservative. In the general, I vote for the Conservative if there is a true Conservative. No Conservative? No vote.
Democrats and RINOs are the same to me. I do not vote for them. I used to. And I often said, “I’m not doing that again!” after the Republican I voted for started supporting the Liberal causes. And yet, for many years, I did it all over again, voting for whichever Republican was in the race. I did that for about 40 years.
Done. No more votes for RINOs.
The Dems are against the Anthem, Flag, our voting system and by extension the Country itself.
The concept violates holier than thou conservative puritanical free will
Yea, that kind of voting gave us the last two lesbians on the SC. I’d rather even have rinos to vote for someone like gorsuch
If you want the mods to fix a typo in your thread, best way is to use the report abuse function in your first post and ask them that way.
Most of the time I will even if I have to hold my nose. But I also have a line that I won’t cross. I would never vote for Lindsey Graham. He’s worse than a rino he actively damages us from within. I’d rather lose the seat. Sometimes these incumbents become so entrenched it’s the only way. That said it’s rare that I won’t vote for the Republican as I know Democrats are not just an opposition party they have become enemies.
I dont know old man bush gave us Souter and jr gave us elastic man Roberts.
I am not voting for liberal Republicans anymore. Stab them in the back McInsane, kill those babies the motto of the Maine sisters of death etc... The never Trumpers fine support last year. The Party loyalty boats left and Im not interested in catching it even if it returns to port.
Spent 30 years voting for the RINO duJour they shoved down our throat only to realize, to no surprise, that the party became more and more filled with RINO’s.
Done voting for just anyone who sports an “R” by their name.
Buckley rule. But then sometimes you get fed up. Examples please.
I agree 100000%. We cannot let the Dems win, period.
Agreed.
Dems just love you. Congrats.
Roberts is better than any Dem liberal on the Court.
Dems are out of control and must be defeated at all costs. Locally, they’ve allowed boys in the girls locker rooms and have started purging our precious history. They cannot be in power to implement their destruction. They voted to change the name of J.E.B.Stuart to Justice HS. They are out of control.
And RINOs love you.
Same difference.
Conrgrats.
Your point is long overdue. ‘True conservatism,’ has literally morphed into: ‘Whatever action will yield the most radically leftist result.’
I’m not exaggerating. Consider just two examples. First, Never-Trumpers. Trump was not enough of a conservative for their rarified purity, so they proselytized for people to vote against him. Had their movement succeeded we would now have President Hillary Clinton: i.e.: the most radically leftist result possible. And it would have been done in the name of true conservatism.
Repeal of Obamacare. All the radical leftists and ‘moderates,’ voted against repeal...as did Rand Paul. Paul, of course, did it for reasons of, ‘true conservatism.’ The result being we peasants [as distinguished from elitist Paul, who has a taxpayer-subsidized platinum plans] are saddled with Obamacare ad infinitum: i.e.: the most radically leftist result possible.
The point is that ‘true conservatism,’ as it has evolved, never yields conservative outcomes. It invariably, when it succeeds, yields radically leftist outcomes.
As for the canard about teaching the swamp a lesson. Please. The GOP-Uniparty welcomes such lessons. They were thrilled and delighted with Obama. They worked 100x harder to pass his agenda than they will ever work for Trump. A Democrat in the WH is a stellar outcome for the Uniparty; it ensures that their robbing and pillaging of the US (for personal gain) will continue apace.
That said, McCain and Romney were pitiful, abysmal candidates. It would be difficult to find two worse ones. That’s why it was so idiotic for ‘true conservatives,’ to oppose Trump. He was our one chance to reject both radical leftism and the rot and corruption of the Uniparty. Had we lost that opportunity, we wouldn’t have been given another.
Fortunately, common sense prevailed. [It is the lack of common sense that defines modern ‘true conservatism,’ btw. People who could look at Trump vs Hillary, and genuinely believe the country would be better off with Hillary than for them to violate their principles and vote for Trump, lack basic common sense.]
