Republican Roy Moore, the anti-Republican establishment candidate, is tied at 42 percent...with Democrat Doug Jones in the U.S. Senate race...
A Fox News Poll also finds that among just the 53 percent of Alabama registered voters who are extremely or very interested in the race, Jones has a one-point edge over Moore (46-45 percent).
...
The poll, released Tuesday, shows 42 percent of Moores supporters have some reservations about their candidate. For Jones, that number is 28 percent.
...
Plus, 21 percent of those in the Jones camp say theyre voting against Moore as opposed to for Jones. Thats three times the number of Moore supporters who say their vote is based on dislike of Jones (7 percent).
...
The main reasons Moore supporters give for backing him include party loyalty (41 percent) and his Christian beliefs (20 percent). Among Jones supporters, it is party loyalty (35 percent) and their belief Moore is extreme (32 percent).
In a Republican stronghold like Alabama, it helps Jones that Democrats are more likely to back him (85 percent) than Republicans are to support Moore (77 percent). Independents go for Jones by 33-26 percent (27 percent undecided).
...
The poll finds 29 percent say Jones is too liberal for Alabama.
On the other hand, 39 percent of voters feel Moore is out of step with Alabama today. Even 24 percent of Republicans feel that way.
...
Only 3 in 10 Alabama voters are pleased with the way the federal government is working these days. Most voters are either angry (22 percent) or dissatisfied (45 percent).
With the GOP controlling the White House and Congress, the Democrat Jones leads by 18 points (52-34 percent) among voters expressing frustration with Uncle Sam. Those satisfied with the government break for Moore by 41 points (62-21 percent).

The sampling error isnt greater than 7% but for most demographics hovers around 4% (rounded).
It was a poll of both landlines and cellphones, roughly equally represented.
For me the most concerning (given the caveat above) is that Independents seem to be breaking for Jones. Also, perhaps most shockingly, of those asked do you trust or mistrust the government more? Those who answered mistrust more support Jones! Those who support Moore answered trust the government more! Whats up with that?
That particular response leads me to believe Moores support may be softer than Jones. There are other analyses that give me pause in the report linked.
Thoughts? Additional analyses?
I think we should be doubling down support for Moore. You can donate to his cause here: https://www.roymoore.org/Support-Judge-Moore/ if you havent done so already or wish to do so again. If you live in Alabama, Id consider donating some volunteer time.
Dont take this for granted just because Alabama is an historically red state! Take nothing for granted in this war against leftism!
Don’t trust polls.
But.
Work as hard as you can. The LAST thing we need is for the Turtle to be smirking at us.
Remember Fox is part of the deep state and their polls tend to be wish lists.
I was afraid of this - why people backed Moore over Mo Brooks is beyond me. Brooks would have been a much more substantive candidate. Moore I’ve always perceived as a showboat.
However, I still think he is going to win - this is a case of needing the Republicans to “come home” to a candidate they don’t really like simply because they don’t want a Democrat in office. The Democrat likely has a ceiling of 46% in this race that ultimately cannot be overcome unless Republicans simply don’t show up at the polls.
Remember, Roy Moore was twice removed from the Chief Justice post for violations of Judicial Code. This is not lost on the people of Alabama.
He is a zealot that puts his God’s law ahead of man’s law in all cases.
Which makes him a good man, unfit for Federal office.
And I believe the people of Alabama, if they elect him, will elect him by the slimmest of margins.
I’ll hold off on accepting this poll.
I haven’t seen anything to cause Moore a loss of support, and he was supposedly up ten points a couple of weeks back.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA How the hell is Ray Moore going to lose when Alabama went for TRUMP 62-34??
The entire liberal establishment is out to stop Moore.
And that includes GOPe.
Moore was not the best candidate, but there are not enough Democrats to win this race no matter what the polls show - so the only way the Republican can lose this race would be for depressed GOP turnout. That shouldn’t happen.
“why people backed Moore over Mo Brooks is beyond me”
This Californian gave a modest sum to Mo Brooks. I thought him the best candidate and the last thing I wanted to see was a Moore nomination and subsequent loss to a commie Democrat.
Which is both possible and predictable.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA How the hell is Ray Moore going to lose when Alabama went for TRUMP 62-34??
That’s my thought as well.
It’s as if we learned nothing about fake polls from the last election. Your analysis is pointless if someone made up the data.
“Remember, Roy Moore was twice removed from the Chief Justice post for violations of Judicial Code. This is not lost on the people of Alabama.”
Actually trumped up garbage.
And that is what is not lost on the people of Alabama.
The Washington DC RINOs spent many millions in the primary & runoff AGAINST REPUBLICANS. Lets see how many millions theyre willing to spend in support of the selected Republican against a RAT in the general election. Any guesses?
Mitch? Paging Turtleman. Pick up the red courtesy phone, Mitch.
I used to listen to that type of argument when they wanted Christianity out of our schools.
Then they implemented Islamic religious role playing in the same schools.
Christians were in trouble if they even brought a Bible on campus.
Moore was trashed for supporting the Ten Commandment display.
I back him on that 100%.
Moore is great candidate and is going to smoke the Democrap. Just like in the Georgia election a few months ago.
Possibly....but I still don’t think a Dem has a cat’s chance in hell winning.
Ill believe in the Easter bunny before Fox News polling.
Yes, theyre that bad and have been for years.
The Swamp and Leftwing Media hate Moore even than Trump.
A real poll would be of likely voters.
A special election on December 12 is in the middle of Christmas shopping season, and it’s not a regular polling day. Only the dedicated are going to show up.
Moore has a very good chance to win this, but it will not be effortless. I imagine that GOPe is not too excited about him winning and would just as much rather have a Dem.
Turnout is the key.
Don’t let the polls discourage you. Even if Moore’s support is “soft” in percentages, these polls can not really tell how many people are broken-glass supporters. There are many Moore supporters who will show up if there is a blizzard and a nuclear war that day.
