NAPA (CBS SF) Wind-whipped wildfires roared to life Sunday night and early Monday across Wine Country, burning building, forcing evacuations and injuring several people.
The Atlas Peak fire was the largest of several wildfires, quickly growing to more than 200 acres near Napa. Meanwhile, the fire near Calistoga had burned several building and sent several people to the hospital to be treated for burns.
Cal Fire said firefighters were battling several blazes in Sonoma County. The largest was in the area of Porter Creek Road and Petrified Forest Road near Calistoga where mandatory evacuations were ordered for residents along Porter Creek, Petrified Forest, Franz Valley and Mountain Home Ranch Rd.
Early Monday morning, the Sonoma County Sheriffs Department said fires had erupted at Mark West Springs and Riebli roads in Santa Rosa, at Shiloh and Conde roads in Windsor and at Highway 116 and Fredericks Road in Sebastopol.
The fires had stretched Sonoma and Napa counties firefighting resources to the breaking point. A call for mutual aid was issued to other Bay Area fire departments.

Despite what some mouth-breathing a-holes on here seem to believe, there are a LOT of conservatives in California. And a lot of us aren't lily-livered sniveling cowards who are going to flee to a free state. We know how to deal with looters. I'm just trying to not give up on FR because of some of the inbred unchristian retards who seem to love slagging everyone in the state; guess having mom drink while being gang-banged by bikers when they were in utero messed up their cognitive processing abilities.
For those of you posting about hyperbole after I posted this thread Monday afternoon...Oh how I wish you had been right...
DEATH TOLL NOW AT 31; WILDFIRES BECOME DEADLIEST IN STATE’S HISTORY; 460 STILL MISSING :(

I was 300 yards from where the Nuns Canyon fire started. Simply, a huge gust of wind and a few minutes later, smelled smoke and we were off to the races. A deputy just gave me a store bought sandwich; first real food since Sunday.
Another poster mentioned they may be trying to prevent more firebugs from seeking a thrill.
Maybe they dont want a mob of torches and pitchforks headed for the jailhouse.
If its true they are spiking the story for some reason.
Usually if theres an allahphile or a dreamer involved they will bury it.
I do know that the car fire someone set out in the street in front of my moms house really did happen. There should be 911 calls on record because they came out and towed the car away later. Hopefully they will find some shred of evidence in it.
Good points!
Hope your mom is safe!!
Yeah, she’s fine.
Weird stuff happens out there all the time.
Big side shows every weekend.
Wrecks all the time.
Updated List of wineries damaged or destroyed by fire...map and list :(
Unreal.
This is so awful.
People are sick. So easy to destroy, and so hard to build. It’s a shame.
I would hazard a guess that a lot of people in the fire zone might have actually voted for President Trump.
There are many people like us up in the hills.

This is a quote from the link you posted. This attitude is one of survivors. Very rough time for them, but they’re facing it. Inspiring.
Well said. I have good friends in CA who are as far from liberal commiepukes as one can get without be Genghis Khan.
California doesn’t practice scientific forestry so they don’t log strategic firebreaks or make small preventative fire burns, unlike states like Alabama that do.
Thus, California gets larger forest fires than states like Alabama.
And that’s how it will always be until they “Change.”
Anchorette on the scene said its actually better for the fires to merge because it makes it easier to surround and heaf off.
Maybe well see real progess soon.
Interesting—had not heard. Sure hope they can improve the containment percentage numbers~no rain forecast until Thursday :(
The Perp looks like a follower of the ANTIFA way.
What’s wrong with Genghis?
Compared to Mao, Stalin or Che he was an enlightened and kindly despot :-)
We don’t even have to worry about burying the bodies; the only way they’ve been able identify most of the victims is by the serial numbers on the implanted pacemakers and hips; all that was left.

Glad you posted...Wondered if you were OK...
Very sad situation with the missing and the ferociousness of the fire :( It is like a nuclear attack—seriously looks like a post apocalyptic movie setting in some pictures :( One Freeper posted that some people thought the Norks had nuked Cali when they were awoken at 4:00 a.m. and had to run for their lives or get consumed by fire.
Don’t give up on FR...I think the majority of people here are very empathetic to the plight of the Californians. There are a few bad eggs in any group...likely they are insecure and really don’t have much to feel good about, so they focus any problems of their lives on leftists, and since leftists live in coastal cities—and a lot of them in Cali, these fools seem to maintain some sort of smugness due to their location...and how bizarro is that!?!?
I agree with you that there are many conservatives in California—in fact, as you know, once you get out of the coastal cities, the state is conservative and hence Trump voters...However, frankly, I don’t think a person’s political affiliation should even be considered at a time like this...We are Americans, we are people, and we need to support those in need regardless of their politics. I mean we are pro-life, and we care about pregnant women in need and the babies they are carrying without regard to politics, so shouldn’t it be the same here and now for those in harms way in California here and now?
Can’t speak for the rest of FR threads, but on this thread, it seems the haters are a very small minority, and they are extreeeemely unwelcomed by everyone else!!! :)
Prayers and thoughts for you and yours and California wine country residents! Be safe and keep us posted!

But they were commies. :-)
Genghis went out and destroyed as many moslems has he could find, IIRC.
