NAPA (CBS SF) Wind-whipped wildfires roared to life Sunday night and early Monday across Wine Country, burning building, forcing evacuations and injuring several people.
The Atlas Peak fire was the largest of several wildfires, quickly growing to more than 200 acres near Napa. Meanwhile, the fire near Calistoga had burned several building and sent several people to the hospital to be treated for burns.
Cal Fire said firefighters were battling several blazes in Sonoma County. The largest was in the area of Porter Creek Road and Petrified Forest Road near Calistoga where mandatory evacuations were ordered for residents along Porter Creek, Petrified Forest, Franz Valley and Mountain Home Ranch Rd.
Early Monday morning, the Sonoma County Sheriffs Department said fires had erupted at Mark West Springs and Riebli roads in Santa Rosa, at Shiloh and Conde roads in Windsor and at Highway 116 and Fredericks Road in Sebastopol.
The fires had stretched Sonoma and Napa counties firefighting resources to the breaking point. A call for mutual aid was issued to other Bay Area fire departments.

Maybe this information warransts a threat matrix ping.
My son texted me this morning.
Guy he works with has been hauling horses out or the fire zone all week.
He said they caught SIX people trying to start fires in Santa Rosa.
For some reason the media is NOT reporting this.
My mother called me this morning.
Last night around midnight someone had set a car fire in the middle of the road in front of her house. She is on the outskirts of town in a little valley. There is a dry creek bed in front of her house with lots of dead vegetation and some giant eucalyptus trees. It is also a very windy area. Fire could spread to Vallejo, Benicia and Cordelia.
Maybe all you people were right about arsonists being responsible.
Is it jihad or some kind of sinister distraction or agenda 21 antifa type thing?
It’s starting to look more coordinated by the day.

I just remembered this for some reason.

Are the six people in custody or did they escape.
I’m assuming they are if they were caught in the act.
That’s why I was wondering why no coverage.
Another poster mentioned they may be trying to prevent more firebugs from seeking a thrill.
Maybe they don’t want a mob of torches and pitchforks headed for the jailhouse.
If it’s true they are spiking the story for some reason.
Usually if there’s an allahphile or a dreamer involved they will bury it.
I do know that the car fire someone set out in the street in front of my mom’s house really did happen. There should be 911 calls on record because they came out and towed the car away later. Hopefully they will find some shred of evidence in it.
Actually I’m in SoCal near the Canyon 2 Fire- a lot of neighborhoods near me were evacuated but we were lucky in OC and lost very few houses. Spooky but so far not deadly.
Our local news has been carrying first person reports from the huge NorCal fires- some of our local reporters have family there- and what I’ve posted comes from what I’ve been hearing in those reports.
These NorCal fires are about the worst that California has ever had. I’ve had several big fires get very close- usually you get some warning ahead of time, enough that you know the fire is coming- you can pack something and get out before the flames hit. But these poor people in NorCal didn’t have a chance. They woke up to find themselves in an inferno. I fear that a lot of older people weren’t able to escape.

Anchorette on the scene said it’s actually better for the fires to merge because it makes it easier to surround and heaf off.
Maybe we’ll see real progess soon.
