The Department of Defense took over the distribution of hurricane relief from government officials in Puerto Rico this weekend after local mayors failed to appropriately disperse the emergency items to the territorys 78 municipalities, The Miami Herald reported Sunday.
According to The Herald, food, water, and medical supplies were previously delivered to 10 regional staging sites in Puerto Rico, but the mayors did not coordinate properly to distribute the large containers of relief at the staging sites.
Instead, 10 to 20 soldiers will be posted in every municipality with vehicles and logistical support, where they will deliver relief to every neighborhood.
We need to push it directly to the barrio to ensure that everyones getting it, Brig. Gen. Jose J. Reyes, assistant adjutant general of the Puerto Rico National Guard said. They will have some vehicles. They will have radio communications as well as logistics support
. They are going to be living there. They are going to be operating 24/7.

With the relief effort to PR being so successful, thanks to President Trump, this will quickly become a nothing-burger news item for the lame-stream media (nothing with which to bash Trump), and they’ll move on.
Remove our troops and resources that are used to fight wars for globalists and for "nation building" (ie: contracts to politically connected contractors who build things to be blown up). A lot of money and resources are being expended in Afghanistan. Stop supporting traitors to their country in Syria. Move all those troops and construction to rebuild Puerto Rico. And don't give it back to locals.
Back in the early 1960s, I was fortunate enough to take a few cruises to the Caribbean. Those islands ran very well, when Colonial powers were running them.
Interesting ping.
Bingo!
It’s weird. I haven’t seen s single photo of Puerto Rican s doing anything to help their neighbors
Bingo! Good thing that we have a president that learned how to succeed in the corruption of NYC without becoming corrupt himself.
“Maybe the mayors plan was to sell supplies to the highest bidders.”
Corruption is the way of life of PR.
US Military should take over the sanctuary state of California , arrest the Governor and any other office holders who refuse to enforce immigration laws in Cal. State and any other sanctuary state , county , and city .
Liberals will whine if there is no food in front of them. Then they’ll whine about the food. And then they’ll whine some more when nobody lifts the spoon to their lips.
Praise Jesus! I suggested this about 10 days ago, when the corrupt mayor of San Juan lied about lacking supplies while being videoed standing in front of mountains of supplies; which she and the corrupt teamsters refused to distribute. More winning, for Pres. Trump and for Puerto Rico.
The comments?
The Left and Soros money is still engaged.
They are absolutely desperate. Of course, most of it is automated spam.
Sigh.
I work with a guy who spent his formative years growing up in Puerto Rico. He still has relatives living there. His view from personal experience and feedback from relatives is that the government there is corrupt at all levels. Corruption has become normalized both in government and government owned operations like the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority. He said the whining, lying and finger pointing we hear from San Juan’s mayor is typical of Puerto Rico’s demoncrap politicians. Like any liberal politician, they are feckless.
Trump should declare martial law and appoint a full-time military governor. Would do wonders for hurricane relief ops and Puerto Rico’s epidemic crime rate. Turn the island back over to local rule in about 20 years, after corruption has been thoroughly rooted out and eliminated.
One commentator in the Miami Herald article explained the hierarchy of distribution. It went something like this. First are the mayor and his staff and families. Then come political supporters, especially donors. Next are government employees and unions. Last are the churches. Everyone else can fend for themselves.
How is that different from anywhere else, including the states?
Yep- like when Clinton removed the USN from control of relief to Somalia and had the UN do it... the UN gave it to the local self appointed “leaders” ...er, warlords.
Any Somalian who wanted to eat then had to submit to the warlord.
Democrat Mayors?
Good...Democrats cannot t be trusted
Maybe it’s the Island lifestyle? Butt in the sand? Even Kenny Chesney is helping out on his island but he did not grow up there.
