Some possible gun legislation to consider

As I said above, this probably seems completely out of character for me, but as much as it pains me to say it and with full knowledge of the potential implications for a slippery slope, I think we need to consider a ban on both bump stocks and these automatic fire conversion kits. (I’ll give everyone a moment here to light the torches and begin painting up posters calling for my deportation.)

Guns in the hands of law abiding American citizens are not a problem nor a threat.

The news media is the threat to your freedom and your lively hood as the other marxists in Venezuela are to the people who live there now.

No problem for me. But if we are doing “compromises”, what do i get in return? A compromise isn’t when they demand everything i have, and then agree settle on half. A compromise means they have to give up something they wanted too.

I want and end to any and all laws regarding 22lr guns, Single action army revolvers, lever rifles and shotguns. That’s as in...NO laws at all. I can buy over the counter like pocket knives at the gas station, swap, carry from coast to coast...to have and to hold.

And i want Clapper, Hillary, Comey, and Rice arrested to restore my faith in Government.

I like compromise.

Yes, I think we need to have special legislation to make “mass murder” a more serious crime!

I mean we have “hate crime” laws because hate crimes are so much worse that regular crimes.

Yes, by all means let’s pass laws against “mass murder” then all go and hug each other and have dinner together.

(/sarcasm)

At least it might shut the politicians up and allow them to say they have done something (when they haven’t done anything of any consequence.)

Let's think about a general description of the horrific Las Vegas incident in question here. It apparently involved a lone gunman with an arsenal of weapons 32 stories above the ground laying automatic fire down over a concert crowd of 22,000 people.

1. Some people see this incident and immediately try to think of ways it could have been prevented.

2. Some of us see this and immediately try to think of what kind of weapons we'd need to return fire effectively.

Count me in Group #2.

I was thinking more of a suicide mission in one of the aircraft he supposedly owned.

Any law, any discussion of a new law. Is simply not what we paid for. It is not why we elected Republicans and if they screw us we will get new ones.

That said bump fire stocks are legal because BATFE says so, they can snap their fingers and make them go away.

Not that any one cares about preventing the crime that we are supposed to be talking about here, but banning bumpfire stocks wouldn’t have helped. This guy was supposed to be some kind of millionaire. He could have afforded whatever ridiculous price a real belt fed machine gun is going for.

The very graphic you provided categorizes the Level of Firearm Regulation in Switzerland as "restrictive".

But, if you do need further reading, try this.

Don’t give an inch to the media and democrats .They are taking away our freedom one inch at a time.

I just know that 97% or so of these mass shooters wouldn’t do this if not for the massive media attention and coverage that first gave them the idea and the promise of attention and fame and media fame forever their promise importance and immortality in way.

So the media should call for media reforms not gun control since that is the cause of these media created “crisis”

OK, well you're wrong, and you need to fix yourself.

“Laws are for the law abiding.

Criminals, by definition, do not follow laws.

I am not willing to play the game of punish the law abiding for the acts of criminals, and anyone who attempts to play this game will never get my vote.”

What he said!!!!!!!

Pass a law against jaywalking, only the scofflaws will disobey
Pass a law against burglary, only burglars will disobey
Pass a law against assault, only criminals will disobey
Pass a law against self defense and the law abiding will be victims.

Criminal law is for after the fact. Charging and punishing. Self defense is NOT a crime, so laws that prevent self defense are (not only unconstitutional) oxymoron(ic).

...It apparently involved a lone gunman with an arsenal of weapons 32 stories above the ground laying automatic fire down over a concert crowd of 22,000 people...

Indeed, and that made me think of a contra-argument to the gun grabbers... if they think they can just ignore the 2nd amendment, why not ignore others, like, oh, the right to peaceably assemble? No large crowds of people and this whole massacre wouldn't have happened.

In fact, you could strike a bunch of other rights before you get around to the right to bear arms, and save far more lives. You know, if we're going to be ignoring the constitution or treating it as a "living, breathing document" that's subject to change at the whim of whomever currently pulls the levers of power.

The same liberals who so carelessly throw out the implied statement that an amendment isn't necessarily binding, or means what it clearly states, are the same who hide behind the first amendment like a child cowering under their blankie, so maybe we need to start threatening some of their beloved rights and see how they react.

I formally propose an end to any gathering of over 10 people, because it's the only way to ensure any mass murderer will be able to kill more than 10 people in one attack, no matter the method. Violations will be a felony (just like NFA violations).

After all, these high-capacity crowds are just mass murders waiting to happen... nobody really needs more than 9 friends at any one time.

For my next decree, I'll override the "free exercise thereof" clause and ban Christianity. Haven't those Christians caused enough trouble already?

“.except that I saw the video showing a dude using a rubberband on the trigger which gave the same result.”

So when the antis see your post, will they try for a rubber band ban or a semiauto ban?

“When you consider the carnage he could have created with a hijacked, loaded semi tractor trailer at 60 miles per hour, people should be thankful he chose firearms.....”

He owned an airplane, could have taken off from Vegas airport loaded with gasoline and maybe TATP and crashed into the crowd.
