I can see the following scenario with use of my limited imagination:
The ultimate fascist Democrat rule: All guns must have trigger locks tied into a central command center. If you want to use your gun, you push a button on your trigger lock. If the command center determines you are OK to pull the trigger a signal is given for the lock deactivation. Such trigger locks will not be deactivated inside public spaces. A person wanting to shoot a store clerk will not be able to shoot. A person wanting to shoot up people outside their hotel window will not be able to shoot. A gun will be in most cases, useless as more locations are deemed sensitive zones. And the social engineers will be stupid, as is always the case. But the fascists will get over on the citizen who is always too busy to see through their faulty problem-solving methods.
The social engineers will not consider the black market consequences. Just as they have not considered the ability to modify an AR-15 for full-automatic to create a M16 capability, so they will not consider any effort to create laws to regulate man’s creative efforts to defend themselves and those who use that power to create evil. This is why our nation’s founders wrote the Second Amendment because they understood man’s creative power for survival and the corresponding power to do evil.

That could apply to all the people on various forums looking for some conspiracy, motive, reason. From ‘false flag’ to full on nutjobs on both sides of the political spectrum; it’s like people can’t handle “we don’t know, and we might never know” without freaking out and inventing or believing all sorts of silly crap.
If one doesn’t *KNOW* “who, what, when, where, why and how” with the ability to cite specific (NOT “unnamed”) people and numbers, one doesn’t know anything.
Show me numbers, quotes on the record and verified witnesses who will put their names on it. Liberals and conservatives both seem to need some framework, something to blame, some reason other than, as you put it so well, the reality of human evil.
How can they have an “All Out War Against the NRA” if they don’t have guns?
Even the NRA couldn’t get an anti-Second-Amendment law passed now, if it tried. What would they do, outlaw people with incomes in the hundreds of thousands of dollars per year from possessing weapons (re. Holmes, Lanza, Paddock and all)?
That demographic is supposed to be a happy, stable demographic. There’s something more strange going on than most of us know, and it’s not simply mental illness. Drugs, perhaps? Or a physical anomaly that we’re unaware of, like brains being cooked more than usual from solar or other cosmic rays?

Not putting any money on that since Trump already said that gun law discussions would be on the table at some point in the future. His previous round of discussions with “Chuck & Nancy” didn’t exactly fall in favor of the conservative position.

There was already reporting yesterday from 2 different gun stores in the LV area that confirmed sales to the guy that were processed through NICS in the required fashion. Plenty of reporting on him being well-off so he could pretty much whatever he wanted, whenever he wanted.
Take off the tinfoil beanie and try to keep up. Delving into your favorite conspiracy or UFO theory is not a good strategy for beating back the ignorant gun-banners at the gates.

I pray daily for those poor souls who were massacred but am right now at personal DEFCON 3.
Keep a close eye on the USSC because once another justice retires, another conservative will be appointed.
