Country music star John Rich handed over his own firearm to a police officer who used it to defend civilians in a bar during the Las Vegas strip massacre.
Rich, who is the star of Big & Rich, explained how it all went down on Fox News.
I had an off-duty police officer, it was a Minneapolis police officer, off-duty, was in my bar hanging out. He came up to me and showed me his badge, and he says, Im officer I forget his last name and Im [a police] officer and Im not armed for the first time ever. I cant believe it. Are you armed? I said yes I am armed. I had my concealed carry. He asked, can I have your firearm so I can hold point on this door? So I handed over my firearm to him, everybody got behind him and for two hours he held point on that door without flinching, Rich said during his appearance on Fox News.
This is such an incredible story. Of course Rich, a huge pro-America guy, had a gun and gave it to the police. I would be surprised if he didnt have a gun. Good for him. Is there any genre of music more likely to have armed singers than country music? Didnt think so.
Very convenient that all the concert goers were stripped of their guns. The only reason Rich had his was he was part of the performers.
You can have a firearm in a bar?
Different rules for different folks.
Really highlights the idiocy of “gun-free zones”. Evil people don’t care about the laws, they will do terrible things. Meanwhile, the Good Guys, the law-abiding citizens, have been turned into sitting ducks because they know they’re in a “gun free zone”.
I’m glad there are exceptions and that some people are armed when they need to be armed.
I am persuaded antifa with Sorros are behind this concerted attack in a sort or antipoetic justice against gun owners, using their freedom against them.
When looking at the antifa videos shooting KeK disarmed, it is obvious they were not out to confront armed patriots head on or real enemy menaces such as Nazi, but wanted to ambush soft targets with weapons to humiliate these targets’ enjoyment of gun rights in a moment they are disarmed, just as Kek on the paper they would shoot at without real good aiming as a group
There was something utterly cynical, bizarre and self hating in that video
Every cop in America has an AR in their vehicle now - even my neighbor, and he's an ISD cop.
Blown out windows, muzzle flashes from them, somebody open up and keep him ducking while the SWAT guys go in.
This was more like Columbine than the UT Tower.
Not sure if it makes any difference but he was the owner of the bar........
>>You can have a firearm in a bar?
Quite likely, if you’re barkeep / owner.
John Rich is.

From the Man Himself
“I’ve always dreamed of building the kind of place where my friends and family could get together and turn it up after a hard day’s work. Redneck Riviera is that place. We are going to build as many of them as it takes to offer a place for every hard-working American to cut loose and celebrate a job well done!”

When ESPN dropped the Big and Rich theme song for Saturday morning football, I dropped cable. Every Saturday morning that song would get my wife and I pumped up to go sell homes!
“I have wondered, watching the coverage, why police didn’t lay down suppressive fire on those windows.”
Las Vegas cops are not in the business of ham-handed military assaults on buildings housing thousand of paying tourists that are visiting their city.
At night, you can’t tell where one window ends and the next begins. Nor did they know which window to engage. Your recipe is not one for success.
Cop: Do you have a gun?
Rich: Yes.
Cop: Hand it over. You’re under arrest.
Just one possible outcome.
Perfectly legal in Nevada. Don’t get caught with one if you are impaired.
In Texas it makes a difference, not sure about Nevada. Fire arms are illegal to posses in a bar unless you own/manage the bar.
The article said the cop showed Rich his badge
CC wouldnt have helped in this case unless you were in or near the room itself. The shooter was over 400 yrds away... pretty tough to hit anything at that range with just a pistol...
I do wonder about the folks around his room, must have been one hell of a racket with all that gunfire..
I can have a firearm in a bar. What matters is whether or not you’re drinking. One drop, and you are illegal. You can drunk water all night and not ever break the law.
that was my thought...i doubt those people who were above and below Paddocks room ventured out, assuming they were in their rooms...
“You can have a firearm in a bar?”
In Nevada? I wouldn’t know, but it is after all, Nevada.
Elvis probably could.
