Owner Jerry Jones joined his team in taking a knee. The Cowboys then stood up and linked arms for the national anthem.
The Dallas Cowboys all took knees on the field and the Arizona Cardinals linked arms across from them before their Monday Night Football game, a move that followed a closely-watched Sunday in which NFL teams and their owners rebuked President Donald Trump’s criticism of athletes protesting during the national anthem.

You don't get to define the terms.
The players did not take a knee *during* the anthem. They did it before. As long as they stood with respect to the flag during the 90 seconds or so they played the song, then they've done what's required of them. For the other three hours, they can act like jerks and thugs and it only reflects on their team, not on the flag.
Go back to Kaepernick himself that started this whole thing. He never said that he meant to disrespect the flag or our troops. He even topped it off by saying he thought Hillary Clinton should be in jail but, of course, the media didn't mention that part.
He wanted to draw attention to police violence. OK, so noted. He's pretty much thrown away his career for being an idiot. Why certain players want to continue this little tantrum, I don't know but the Cowboys handled it pretty well.
Kneel - ok we got your point. Stand - ok, now get ours. Then, let's kick off and get the game going. Nobody pays $100 a seat to watch how they handle the anthem. It's ridiculous.

Plenty of things to do on a Sunday afternoon. I did watch yesterday just to see the Chiefs defeat the Los Angeles Traitors. Won’t do so again this season.

I did this last year. I cleaned out my closet of all my 49er hats and starter
jackets (yes, i said starter jackets!) and she ran them over to WEAVE.
Took down all my posters and ticket stubs. Reminded me how much

And once the diehard football fans figure that out, there will be no going back. Rush was right. The players and useful idots (owners) are killing the game. Good riddance. I used to love football, but I won't watch anymore. Why should I sit down for a fun game only to have wealthy, spoiled brats stick their collective thumb in my eyes?

Burn the paraphernalia. One of these thugs might mistake a woman wearing it for their baby momma and beat the crap out of them.
The Left loses a kneeling exercise. Their goal is to destroy symbols of American patriotism and nationalism, which is what Kapernick was doing. Kneeling as an exercise without the attempted defamation of America eventually becomes the Christian symbol for prayer.
The true test is the hard core subversives, and their desire to continue to trespass on the anthem - they will reject the Jones Solution to precisely attack American patriotism and nationalism. They will be alone.
