California Goes Full Sanctuary State With Sweeping Immigration Bill

California lawmakers punctuated the end of the 2017 legislative season by passing a comprehensive immigration bill that makes the state one of the nation’s most hostile to federal immigration authorities.

In a party line vote early Saturday morning, the state senate passed SB 54, a long-debated measure to shield illegal immigrants from the Trump administration’s strict immigration enforcement.

The bill sharply limits state and local law enforcement communication with federal immigration authorities, and prevents police officers from questioning or detaining people on civil immigration violations.

Entitled the “California Values Act,” the final version passed the Democratic-controlled Senate by a vote of 27-11. The bill, now headed to Gov. Jerry Brown, is a scaled-back revision of an earlier proposal that would have cut off communication and resource-sharing with federal immigration authorities except in cases backed by a criminal warrant.

California is a failed state. Break it up into serveral territories with military governors while brutally terminating any leftist rebellion.

Maybe the Citizens deserve to Dream about Sanctuary?:

We the people of the State of California do Grant to Ourselves absolute immunity from All Laws, Statutes, Regulations, Policies, Procedures, rules and any other government mechanism that a Citizen or Permanent Legal Resident that can not be defined as a Public Employee, former Public Employee or Officer of the Court can articulate a reasonable suspicion, that a person who entered the United States without Without Legal Authorization, or remains in the United States without proper Legal Authority would violate by being in the United States without Legal Authority. Including, but not limited to the following State Laws:
All Motor Vehicle Codes
All Income Tax Reporting Laws
All Employment Laws

So did Colorado but only if you collect it. CO says the rain belongs to the state so if you have a cistern that collects rain water to use during summer when it doesn’t rain your cistern is taxed on size/volume of rain water you stole from the CO skies. In MD it’s almost the same thing. You’re taxed on rain runoff from your roof.

Democrats rigging the vote.

California needs transparent voting laws.

Start with "empty" ballot boxes.

No more fraudulent votes...dump motor/voter.

How can they violate federal immigration law?

Nobody is stopping them, so they keep getting bolder & bolder. there are no repercussions so why should they stop?

No body is holding the mayors or police chiefs accountable for letting criminal illegal aliens out of jail and allowing them to commit murders.

Where is our Law & Order AG & DOJ to stop this?

Let CA withdraw from the Union, but no foreign aid.

Governor Moonbeam and the Mexican Bund are wasting more Golden state tax dollars. Federal immigration laws are clear.

Con Law II “When Congress passes a law within its constitutional authority, the state law must defer. State constitutions are subordinate to federal statutes and treaties. This constitutional requirement is called preemption.”

by passing a comprehensive immigration bill

The author of this bill - the illegal alien Kevin de Leon - was the man who started riots in LA in the wake of Proposition 187's passage.

They repeated over and over that "a state can't make an immigration law, only the federal government". This crap was repeated by Judge Mariana Pfaelzer in her decision against 187.

Now they say they can run they can pass their own immigration laws and do whatever they want, even if it runs counter to federal law. They assume none of us remember.

Well BS, Mexican. We do. And you're gonna lose.

The best thing non-CA residence can do, is boycott as many CA products as possible. Do not vacation there. Do not have anything shipped from there...Get real creative.☺

No, the best thing the rest of the country can do is demand military intervention.

When foreign nationals stage a hostile invasion of a state, that’s supposed to be the response of the United States.

It’s in the Constitution.

Not going to happen.

But there is something millions of non-CA residence can do right now!

Boycott the s**t out of many CA products as possible. Do not vacation there. Do not have anything shipped from there...etc...

I wouldn’t argue with that. What I would say is that the federal government abandoned border and inland enforcement. The employer statutes were never enforced. The rental property mandates were never enforced.

So California was allowed to sink into a very very dark place by our federal government.

One shouldn’t see this as me blaming Washington for all the problems in California, but the federal government, the Republican party, massive defense installation closures across the state, and many fleeing Californians basically abandoned the state.

There was a proverbial WHOOSH over the last few decades, decent people going out, millions upon millions of illegals coming in, and the California Governor and Legislature given free reign to literally destroy this incredible state.

What did we expect to happen when all these things lined up?

It’s a wonder there’s a Conservative left in the state. And yes, there are far more than most folks realize.

What we have here right now is the last remnants of those living here decades ago.

IMO, the state’s citizens need to be educated to understand why everything that is taking place now is wrong.

With no Republican party, that just hasn’t and isn’t happening.

Trump needs to be holding rallies out here about once per quarter.

Engage Hispanics. Engage the middle class here. Address the leadership in California. Take it right back to them.

This state isn’t lost. It’s abandoned.

It’s too important and strategic to simply surrender.

In 1994 the people of California passed proposition 187. It was a ballot initiative to establish a state-run citizenship screening system and prohibit illegal aliens from using non-emergency health care, public education, and other services in the State of California. It was later sweep aside by a Federal stooge in black robes and the appeals ended by a Rat Governor. Sad how far down the hole this once proud state has gone.
