WASHINGTON, D.C. White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told reporters Friday that the Trump Administration will be laying out details of a possible deal with Democrat and Republican congressional leaders to pass legislation on DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and border security measures. One reporter referenced President Donald Trumps tweet that no chain migration could be a part of an immigration bill, then asked Sanders, What did he mean by that?
The President is focused on making sure that in the efforts of these ongoing conversations between both Democrats and Republicans, that we deliver on responsible immigration reform. He wants to help American workers and families, replied Sanders.
Chain migration refers to those who hold legal status in the U.S. and use that status to bring members of their family to the United States. The question has been raised in relation to the possibility that DACA recipients, if given legal status in the, could in turn use that to get status for members of their extended families.
No deal has been final reached on this process, Sanders continued. He supports making an agreement on DACA, but that would have to include massive border security and interior enforcements.
Media reports have been rife with comments from Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi after they took part in a dinner meeting with President Trump on Wednesday evening. The two followed up with a joint statement indicating that they made a deal with the President to quickly legalize DACA and would not include the building of the southern border wall Trump promised during his 2016 campaign. Trump refuted the claims of Schumer and Pelosi at he traveled to Florida on Thursday morning, stating that no deal had been reached.
Hes still 100% committed to the wall..."

The only reform we need is a restoration of the rule of law.
Rescinding DACA was the correct thing to do even if it was 8 months tardy.
Enforcement needs to be ramped up and NO NEW laws to benefit those breaking current laws.
The border need to be secured with at least a fence and removals expedited.
No amnesty of any kind.
I address policy here, and I do not support one single illegal alien being allowed to remain in our nation.
Cut off all government support. Sanction employers. Give home and appartment dwellers 180 days to liquidate.
If they don’t in 180 days, or at least be very deep in the process, the could lose their assets.
We are serious. Get out!
” . . . responsible immigration reform.”
I’m sure it will be fine.
Then, and only then, applications for U.S. citizenship will be approved on a case-by-case basis. No chain migration - NONE! Parents must go back, no exceptions.
And this is AFTER the border is completely secured. 14th Amendment says no anchor babies. Moratorium on legal immigration. Repeal of the 1965 Ted Kennedy Immigration Act. Nationwide E-Verify. No taxpayer benefits to illegals. No amnesty whatsoever to any illegals.
I have a better idea. Drop all immigration reform sh!t until Congress gets its act together and passes some meaningful legislation that works for AMERICANS.
I will trade a one-time DACA for Sens. Cotton and Perdue’s RAISE Act, funding for the border wall, and enhanced enforcement of the current law.
I'd also add to this - no anchor babies.
I’ve mentioned anchor babies.
Yeah, in about 300 years at the Republican’s current pace...
Yeah, in about 300 years at the Republican’s current pace...
I meant to specifically put that in the DACA bill ( with the clause that they usually use - can’t think of it at the moment - that states if any part of this bill is rescinded, then the whole bill is rescinded.) If the dems want to challenge it in court, then they risk losing the whole DACA bill
Although I would love for all for them to go home, being realistic, I don’t think it will happen.
How about this:
Register them all & give them some type of “DACA” card and status.
Begin building THE WALL
Pass the RAISE ACT
Strict interior enforcement
Enact e-verify for all employers
No chain immigration
No anchor babies
Enforce all the other immigration laws on the books
When the wall is FINISHED and all of the other items completed, the DACA iilegal immigrants can apply for citizenship. Building the wall will probably take a few years. By then they will have proved their worthiness to become citizens, or any DACA convicted of a crime will have been deported.
“I’d also add to this - no anchor babies.”

Hell’s bells, who needs an anchor baby when OPEN ENDED DACA eligibilty will provide an endless/eternal flows of illegals to be given “legal status”.
PING
Might as well hang a welcome sign just inside our border if you do that.
People will overstay visas, come by boat, small aircraft... they will find a way.
The only way to truly end it, is to make examples out of the folks who already came here, spent years here, and were jettisoned, every single one.
Who is going to come here if the gig is up?
Nobody!
That is how you end it. Just get ruthless and enforce the law.
Start taking businesses away, taking possession of apartment buildings and homes.
It ends here.
Absolutely no voting. Those in the military allowed to apply for citizenship and then vote. All others are legal immigrants to America, no welfare unless disabled and absolutely no voting. They can apply for citizenship in ten years. Deported for felony. Have special card and must register. Absolutely no voting.
HALF have fraudulently filled out their DACA forms, a former official says, and they were rubber stamped.
The NEXT Dem president will make the citizens.
AND the next dem will let them bring family over.
I agree your way would be best, but I just don’t think anyone in the government has the stomach or desire for it.
Issuing some kind of DACA card similar to a green card, to the current people only. Newcomers wouldn’t have the card, so they would be run of the mill illegal aliens subject to immediate deportation.
