Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R.-Wis.) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.-Ky.) told reporters Thursday at the Republicans’ policy retreat here that they are committed to a 200-day program to implement the agenda of President Donald J. Trump.
Ryan said no one should be shocked by the ambitious agenda.
“We ran on these issue in 2016, so there’s no surprises here and the president agrees to this agenda,” he said.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in a memo mocked the House Republicans’ “spectacular failure” to accomplish their 200-day agenda.
“After 100 days of unified control of Washington, there were already early signs of Speaker Ryan’s out-of-touch priorities and failed leadership,” said the memo, from Tyler Law, DCCC national press secretary.
“At the time, the Speaker argued repeatedly that a 200-day evaluation was more appropriate.”
But the DCCC argued that Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) has “achieved almost nothing since” President Trump assumed office.
How is this bill going to fare in the US Senate given that it takes 60 votes to get anything done?
Paul Ryan is great at passing meaningless bills when he knows that Obama will veto it or the Senate will not pass it. Remember the 7 times Ryan passed the Obamacare repeal bill during the Obama regime, yet couldn’t pass it when Trump took over?
If Paul Ryan passes border funding, how is it his fault if the Senate stops it?
It would still be a good thing for the House to pass it, because you will know which Senators are the problem.
Yeah, I’m getting edgy. All the speculation gets to be too much at times.
Half of the Republicans in Congress made him Speaker.
That the Senate even likely won’t even approve.
